    Perez and Maine could both not last the month, we need Niese back from injury fast. Jerry sucks and fire Jerry and all that, but Omar failed to get another starter this offseason and everyone claimed they knew that was a big mistake

    Adam Rubin says... John Maine was pulled from Thursday's game after issuing a leadoff walk to Nyjer Morgan. There was no immediate word on Maine's issue, but it's believed his shoulder had been bothering him recently. The Mets seemed to be aware of an issue with Maine before he departed. Raul Valdes, who replaced Maine, had been warming before Maine threw a pitch in the game. so there has to be some kind of injury if Valdes was warming up before Maine went out there

    I'm not buying that the Mets would be screwed with or without Jerry. The Mets are 5-10 in one run ball games, so a few bounces (or better managerial decisions) have them 22-18 instead of 19-21, its not over yet, but it will be if the Mets keep bunting and pitching Nieve/Feliciano every day

    missed it live, saw the replays but I'm not understanding how that triple play occured. When Pagan threw the ball in to the infield the players at second and first were on the bases. those runners were the batter (at 1st) and the runner on 1st (at 2nd) sac fly with bases loaded for francoeur, Tatis needs to do something here so we dont come away with just one run

    if Jeter still sucks in August Somers will go after it, he loves baiting Yankee fans, but its a bit early and 25-14 teams dont have the media looking for scapegoats anyway.

    TRIPLE PLAY!!! terrible job by the umps not making a more emphatic call, the baserunners had no idea what was up there.

    great catch by Pagan to help Dickey get out of it with only 2 runs. (why do feel that if the Mets had loaded the bases with nobody out they'd score one run at most?)

    bunting a runner over for Wright isn't very smart when he's in the middle of a strikeout-filled slump Castillo scores on a single, wouldn't you rather have Matthews' 20-25% chance to score him plus Wright's 25-30% compared to Matthews' 0% (on the bunt) + maybe an extra 15% when you add non-strikeout outs in there for Wright?
