I texted Ambler. He hasn't answered. He's not terribly reliable.

Except for Bereave, those are some decent covers.
  3. kcmets
    When can that happen?
  4. kcmets
The latter, of course. I really don't know how to react to this news. I kinda wrote Pete off weeks ago knowing he was going elsewhere. I imagine there will be a lot more funky **** going down at the Citi in the coming weeks so we will see...

I don't know, but I think not retaining Edwin Diaz is going to be the end of the world. Pitchers come and pitchers go, and he's gone. Seems his choice. Lol, CF. Tell us how you really feel!!

    You're Big Al, aren't you?

My guess it's more this than the Mets cheaping out. A change of scenery, nice contract and going to 'another' elite team is a pretty good way to round out a career. Of course, when he needs Tommy John in May things will look and feel different in Dodgerland. Not that I'd ever root for or wish for someone to get hurt.

That's muchas dinero! Not sure he's worth $70 million at this point.

Three years, haven't seen a $$$ figure yet.

A couple of months ago I answered, "I'm already on Part S because I'm super special." >CLICK<

Sure, I agree. It would be like packing up all your stuff and moving into a new place in December only to have to do it all over again in February.

In a pinch, we can use the kcmets.net server is needed. This would have to on a temporary basis. kcmets has move to a company called iPage after being on Ehost, JustHost and then BlueHost. It's dizzying to keep up with the changes. Anyway, it seems phpBB would have to be installed with the Control Panel changes but that looks easy enough after Googling. Also, just add to the domain part of the conversation: cranepool.net is available, I think this is the one we used for years At first I thought cranepoolforum, but I can't remember. cranepool.com is owned anonymously which is kinda weird. It was registered in 2008 and the registrar is Tucows Domains Inc.

The Howells have never been particularly reliable. Good news UMDB-wise!

    I'll email him.

Interesting. The one I found was at: https://metsrefugees.wordpress.com/ -- like I said, circa 2007

I found a website at metsefugees dot com. Briefly looking, there's no phpBB forum there and the site hasn't been updated since 2007. So yeah, SJR, I can see the similarities...

I've been laughing a lot today. Classikc, SJR.

This was something different. I wasn't looking to log in, just reading, and it checked me out to see if was human. I 'was.'

We need a new platform. phpBB sucks. Maybe. I just found something interesting. Very, very interesting. I went to The Sons of Sam Horn Forum and it checked to see if I was human. It took a half minute and I checked my pulse while waiting (88) and I am indeed still a human and it let me in. The next person who runs the CPF should find out how they do that.

I ran it up the flagpole with the other Board members, there's only four of us lol (one vacancy) and everyone approves. I'll FWD the email I sent to them. It will come from a different address than you have for me so if you don't see it check your spam or junk.

As far as the forum goes. I can host it somewhere if need be. The move is not easy.
