If I was Jason Pridie, that would be my goal.

Here's all we need to know about Jason Pridie:

The Mets were the team that ended the Braves streak and preceded the Phillies streak. 2006 was the only year since, I think, 1995 that the Phillies or Braves didn't win the NL East.

Well, it's not all that sizeable. According to Baseball Reference, Frankie is a free agent after the 2012 season, and his salary for 2012 is $8 million. So if the Mets got him back, they'd owe him $4 million (roughly) for the remainder of the year. I'd be more concerned about the players the Mets would be giving up than I would the $4 million. I think we should send the Brewers something similar to a package of Adrian Rosario and Danny Herrera.

I don't think those are actually her children.

I'm not into jerseys, but that grey road Seaver jersey pictured above did make me drool a little.

Voting for the five games listed below will close on Wednesday morning. Some of the games, especially the ones played on June 29 and July 1, look like they're still awaiting a few votes. This will close out the month of June, so be sure to look for the announcement of the Schaefer Players of the Month awards. I don't mind a multi-pronged approach. Bring up some kids, sign a veteran or two from the scrap heap; make a small-scale deal... The more options you have for the bullpen the more likely someone will work out.

I should totally get that shirt. I can wear it to work the next time they have a "Phillies Spirit Day". (And yes, they do that.)

I still don't think the Mets will be serious contenders deep into the season, so I'm not in favor of them trading real prospects for a rental. If we're going to trade youth, I'd rather get a guy like Hunter Pence, who may also be available, and is under control through 2013. But my preferred approach for the remainder of this season would be to try to bolster the bullpen and not deal any blue chips.

He's a bit closer to free agency now than he was last season.
