  1. I think he'll be cut some time around March 31.
  2. Acosta 1 Murphy 0.5 Parnell 1 RRamirez 1 Tejada 1.5 Wright 1.75 Young 3.25
  3. I'm sure that Rush Limbaugh is saying that calling a villain "Black Zero" is a dig at Obama by right wing Hollywood.
  4. All three games from this weekend's sweep of the Marlins will close on Wednesday morning. Each of the games is very low on votes, but the polls will close tomorrow regardless. Schaefer PotG 9/21/12 - Mets 7, Marlins 3 SSchaefer POTG 9/22/12 - Mets 4, Marlins 3 Schaefer POTG, 9/23/2012: Mets 3 Marlins 2 This is the time of year where I tend to get discouraged over the low Schaefer participation and consider not continuing next year, but when April comes around I expect I'll be back on board.
  5. Me too. Never heard of him. (Or her.)
  6. I think it's an extra large Shrinky Dink.
  7. I once, while at a game, half paid attention as they were applying the thing. It does seem to me to be some kind of gel (I'm pretty sure I noticed some glistening as it was applied) that makes it resistant to being messed up.
  8. Voting for the remaining two games from last week's series against the Phillies will close on Tuesday morning. Schaefer POTG, 9/19/2012: Phillies 3 Mets 2 Schaefer POTG 9/20/12 - Phillies 16, Mets 1
  9. With only ten games remaining, these are the prognosticators who still have a chance at getting it exactly right: Transmonk 78 84 MFS62 78 84 bfmc1 77 85 Benjamin Grimm 76 86 LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr 76 86 HahnSolo 75 87 G-Fafif 74 88 metirish 74 88 Vic Sage 72 90 The Second Spitter 70 92 Nymr83 70 92 Chad Ochoseis 69 93 Assuming all ten remaining games get played, somebody will end up right on the money unless the Mets go 2-8 or 4-6. My hunch is that they'll go 3-7, giving Vic Sage the bragging rights.
  10. I think it's made of some kind of dust-resistant goo.
  11. Another update on R.A.'s quest for the pitching Triple Crown: Wins: G. Gonzalez 20, R. Dickey 19, J. Cueto 18 Strikeouts: R. Dickey 209, C. Kershaw 206, C.Hamels 202, G. Gonzalez 201. ERA: R. Dickey 2.66, C. Kershaw 2.70, K. Lohse 2.71. Wins seems unlikely; maybe a tie but an outright win is looking tough. Strikeouts is looking good right now. ERA race is a bit tighter as Lohse is making a move.
  12. Davis 2 Hairston 2.5 Murphy 1.25 Niese 3 Parnell 0.75 Rauch 0.5
  13. Dickey 5 Bay 3 Hairston 1 Rauch 0.5 Thole 0.5
  14. Edgy DC wrote: Marlins put up a big fat six in the fourth inning. It would take a heckuva collapse for Gio not to get his 20th today. You scared me for a second there. You mean "Nationals".
  15. Is it really helping Dickey's bid for 20 wins to have Jason Bay start in left field in each of his starts?
  16. I was just thinking the same thing. Jackie Robinson's uniform number has become too big a part of the story.
  17. O. M. G. Six singles to start the game. Three runs in, bases loaded, nobody out.
  18. And hang it sideways!
  19. I blame Jeff Wilpon.
  20. I was so hoping that this thread would be about this guy:
  21. It was probably because they were demoralized by Dillon Gee's shoulder.
