  2. Allen only allowed one homer, a three-run shot from Garvey. Lopes and Smith walked and scored on Garvey's homer. The Dodgers were a pretty good team back then, but... were they revered?
  3. I can only assume that Murphy was reading this thread in the dugout today.
  4. I think all rational Mets fans have to agree to fight back against the wound-lickers. It makes us all look bad.
  5. What a load of crap. 2006 was great. I "revere" it a lot more than I do 1993, for example. Or 2003.
  6. Murphy drives home Cuddyer, who seems to have taken his time touching the plate.
  7. And he brings home a run with a GIDP! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
  8. You can argue that he pre-redeemed himself with the three-run double.
  9. I think the best strategy against the Braves is to hit ground balls to second base.
  10. I'm going to assume that they're incapable of losing. Until they do, of course.
  11. Voting for Tuesday night's defeat of the Braves at Citi Field will close on Friday morning, but not before 10 a.m. Schaefer POTG 4/21/15 - Mets 7, Braves 1
  12. Edgy MD wrote: They eventually learned that it was ruled an illegal block by the Home-Recker. Oh well. I think he might have been legitimately safe anyway. That lineout to left for the first out is good news. Maybe they can get Andrelton to GIDP?
  13. Murphy scorns the easy out and allows the bases to be loaded with none out.
  14. Was he called safe because of the new rule? Or because his foot touched the plate before the tag? (It does look like that might have been the case.) I'm half-watching with the sound off so I have no idea what the broadcasters might have had to say about the play.
  15. Benjamin Grimm wrote: I think Lagares' arm is just fine! Oops... Lagares didn't make the throw to the plate; if it's an out, it's an 8-4-2.
  16. Tough call. He might be safe, but there may not be "conclusive" evidence to overrule.
  17. Or at least until Carlos Beltran ponies up some more dough.
  18. The Yankees have reached this particular goal. Maybe they can push to .525, or .550, or whatever. The goals of the Yankees are, of course, of no interest at all to me.
