Yeah, I'm settling in on Conforto as the choice. Going to Las Vegas for seven or eight days won't be the end of the world for him. Or for the Mets.

Nice to see them get one back immediately.

Does The Sporting News still give a Rookie Pitcher of the Year Award? And if they do, does anybody care?

Yes, votes are cast before the playoffs begin.

I was thinking Conforto, but maybe Lagares does make more sense. Or they could try to get by with one less pitcher for a week and a half, but I doubt that they'd do that.

deGrom 5 Granderson 3 Murphy 2

Go Rockies! What could have been a very bad day may turn out to be a very good day.

That was more awful than it needed to be.

I'm glad Clippard is staying in, but it's only because of those extra two runs. Managing to the save rule is stupid.

If he pronounced his name the way it was spelled, we could ask questions about how will we know if he loves us so. Instead, we're reduced to making jokes about mouthwash.

Are you allowed to strong-arm someone to the disabled list? That sounds kind of hinky to me. Does an injured player have to approve his assignment to the DL? And an uninjured player, of course, shouldn't be on the DL at all.

I think they would have to give permission, but it's very rare that those requests are denied.

Only when he's exuberant.

Has Vic Black been written off yet for 2015?

Box score Harvey 3 d'Arnaud 1.25

Opportunity missed for Washington too. I'm okay with calling it a wash, but the Mets do have to resume winning.
