  1. Maybe my memory is faulty. But I do seem to remember being at a game where just about everyone had one of those puppets
  2. I have (or had) one of those puppets too. It was a promotional giveaway during the years I had partial season tickets (1986 through 1992) but I don't know what year it was from.
  3. We'll know so much more after tonight's game. The difference between 0-3 and 1-2 is tremendous. If the Mets lose, they're virtually doomed. And if they win, they're back in it. I'm pretty much taking all of the things I was thinking when the Mets were up 2-0 on the Cubs and looking at it from the other side.
  4. I had a dream about Game 3 last night. Let's see how clairvoyant I am: * Curtis Granderson will have obscene words written on his cleats, his mitt, and his batting glove, requiring Fox to pixelate his hands and feet throughout the entire game. * With Jon Niese pitching and the bases loaded, a Royals batter will hit a ball of his foot so hard that it will roll to the center field wall. We'll all think that it was a bases-clearing double, and will subsequently be relieved that it was actually a foul ball. * The Mets will be trailing 6-0 in the seventh inning. If can choose two out of three of those items to come true, I'd obviously choose the first two.
  5. I thought that these announcements weren't supposed to occur during the World Series? Or is there some exemption for tweets?

Then some crunches. Maybe some dishes. Basically, I'm throwing a lot of stimuli at the void, and hoping something works. Maybe an A.M. Crunchwrap?
  7. At least I can go to bed at a decent hour tonight. I still have some sleep to catch up on. Definitely the worst game of the postseason so far. Back at it on Friday, from Citi Field.
  8. Gilmartin about to make his first postseason appearance.
  9. If this was a regular season game I'd have gone to bed by now. 7-1 Royals.
  10. LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr wrote: Harold Reynolds talking at length about the challenge-- "the biggest thing" about the role-- in pitching back-to-back games for starters-turned-relievers, based, of course, on his decade spent as a starting pitcher-turned-reliever. Boy do we nitpick!
  11. I had almost forgotten about Hansel Robles.
  12. I'm losing confidence that the Mets will win this game. That ninth-inning homer by Gordon last night is stinging all the more.
  13. Terry says Niese is available tonight and Colon is not.
  14. HahnSolo wrote: I'm losing patience with Conforto. Start a "sucks" thread! I would like to see him get a few more hits before this is all over. He's just had the one hit, that Game 2 homer against Greinke.
  15. NOT the easy inning I was hoping for.
  16. Looking for some more quick innings from deGrom...
  17. Valadius wrote: For the first time all night, I can fucking relax. Yeah, but for how long? I'd like a four- or five-run lead before I let the tension subside.
  18. Ned Yost fills out his lineup card in calligraphy? That sounds like a reason to hate the Royals.
  19. Yoenis buying in to the "catch the ball" philosophy.
  20. Hopefully the Mets bats will heat up like Johnny Storm does!
  21. It's early yet. DeGrom looking good. He's gotten through two innings with, I think, 19 pitches.
  22. Murphy called out on a high strike to end the top of the first. Am I the only one here? Did everyone else go to a concert or something?
