  1. I hope they move Citi Field to Long Island City, where it should have been built in the first place.
  2. Centerfield wrote: We need tons of help offensively. The fact that Jacob deGrom only was able to win 10 games reinforces that. If he wins the Cy Young Award six and a half hours from now, that fact will be highlighted for all the world to see.
  3. And we have our first three Round One winners. Each of these covers will advance, either to the second round or directly to the third round, depending on their final ranking after all polls have closed. Of these three, MICKEY'S CLUBHOUSE has the highest ranking and YOU NOAH NOTHING is at the bottom, but there are many precincts that have not yet been heard from. Early exit polls indicate a voter preference for pictures of men with their arms folded.
  4. I'd really be surprised if that cover got any votes at all.
  5. You'll get your chance a lot sooner than that! This cover is scheduled to be up for a vote a mere twelve days from now.
  6. Vote for the tabloid covers that you like the best. You may select up to three choices. Voting will run for seven days. POURING IT ON Newsday, May 16, 2018. 8. And even if he has a career-ending injury in 2019, he's already set for life financially. The QO pays him what, $18 million? And that's on top of everything he's already earned. It sounds like a risk worth taking.
  9. My favorite is MR. FREEZE. I love how dynamic the photo is.
  10. Here's a little more about how it will work: In 2015 and 2016 we had 32 first-round polls, and in 2017 we had 16. Both of these numbers fit easily into the single-elimination bracket format. This year, though, it looks like we'll have 22 first-round polls. Ten of the 22 will get a second-round bye. These will be the ten that got the highest percentage of votes in the first round. The remaining 12 covers will face off against each other, by rank. (Number 12 will compete against Number 22, 13 against 21, etc.) This will yield six winners, which, along with the ten covers that got a bye, will give us our Sweet Sixteen.
  11. If there's one that you prefer above all others, then yes, I guess so. In the first round we vote for up to three because, with the limited number of voters that we have, I want to make ties less likely.
  12. Centerfield wrote: How many covers advance? One.
  13. From MLB.com: Nine stars we could see traded this offseason None of the nine are Mets, but one of the players had the Mets listed as a possible destination: 6. Wil Myers, 3B/OF, Padres For now, the Padres are still trying to make it work. Myers moved from first to the outfield and then third base after the signing of Eric Hosmer. If San Diego can acquire a third baseman, Myers would move back to the outfield. But the Padres are loaded there, too. Probably a better option is to trade him to a team that would put him back at first base. Given that Myers has four years at $16 million per season remaining on his contract, it will take some creativity. But he has averaged 29 home runs and 29 doubles in his past two full seasons, which should make him attractive. Possible destinations: Yankees, Mets, Orioles
  14. We currently have a tie in this poll, between WHERE THERE'S A WIL and MR. FREEZE. Anyone case to cast a tie-breaker?
  15. And it contains a reference to urine!

  19. Well, you're supposed to deal from strength, right? I don't know enough about Bryant to have an opinion on this, though.
  20. The relationship between Boras and the Mets isn't a major factor. The key thing is that virtually all of Boras' clients test free agency, and there's no reason to think that it will be any different with Conforto. But to answer the question, yes, of course you consider trading Conforto if the deal is right.
