    I think they'll play in Oakland through next year and then in the existing minor league park in Vegas until the new stadium is ready.

    Those fans have got to be so discouraged. Attendance is going to drop even lower than it's been. The A's will more and more play in front of fans of the visiting team. When they get to Las Vegas, they can have Rat Pack races, with runners in big-head costumes of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and Joey Bishop.

    Southern Nevada is a potential retirement destination for me, so from a selfish perspective, this would mean that the Mets would come visit me every other year.

    Based on past history, I have to assume that all of these changes will eventually make it to MLB. I agree with Edgy. The rule that once you're out of the game you're out of the game is fundamental, and I see no reason to get rid of it. And why the double-hook rule? I like that it (seemingly?) would result in fewer DH at bats, but I wonder what the motivation for it is.

    I agree. I appreciate what Gary Carter contributed to the Mets, but if I was in charge, I'd issue number 8 to a backup catcher or fifth outfielder. It really ought to be put back in circulation.
