  1. Just a reminder of how this will work. There are two full business days allotted for the voting, so Monday's game will be open for voting all through Tuesday and Wednesday, and will close at my first opportunity on Thursday, probably in the morning.
  2. These charts look kinda lame this early in the season, don't they?
  3. Posted this on the UMDB Facebook page, and figured, what the hell, I'll post it here too: FUN FACT: Jason Bay yesterday became only the fourth Met to triple in his first game as a Met, and the second to do it on Opening Day. The other three: Jose Vizcaino on Opening Day 1994, Luis Rivera five days later, and Brian McRae on August 8, 1997.
  4. If you want to watch that much baseball, you might as well get it.

  6. That's because he has the same initials as Jon Matlack.
  7. No disrespect to Bill Shea, but I'd like to think that the bridge is named after the stadium.
  8. Six years from now the Yankees will have moved to Salt Lake City, and we won't care about them at all anymore.
  9. boxscore Santana 4 Wright 1.5 Bay 1 Barajas 1 Matthews 1 Francoeur 1 Nieve 0.5
  10. Frankie from Venezuela now in to finish in a non-save sitch.
  11. Frayed Knot wrote: #876 - Frank Catalanatto (striking out) Catalanatto is number 877.
  12. I'd let Nieve hit here, but I suspect Jerry won't. Maybe Tejada?
  13. Apparently he does. With a six-run lead, I'd let him go for three.
  14. Who's the next pitcher? A game with a five (or more) run lead is a nice soft spot for a Mejia to debut, no?
  15. He's also an airport in Madrid!
  16. My meeting ended early... instead of 5-0 it's 4-1. I'll take it!
  17. Off to a meeting for about an hour. Hopefully when I next check in, the Mets will have won 5 to nothing.
  18. Gotta get a run this inning. Preferably two.
  19. We need Barajas, Santana, and/or Cora to get these runners home.
  20. We can already add Matthews to the very short list of Mets who were more productive in their second stint.
  21. That might have been scary if I was watching on TV; Uggla hits one deep enough to advance both runners. But there are two out now.
  22. Ramirez singles, steals second, then Cantu walks. Uggla up with one out and runners on first and second.
