Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 I don't figure that this will get enough attention for individual game threads, so one thread for the whole series.Game 1 tonight features righthanded finesse pitchers Sonny Gray and Trevor Bauer. I almost scored tickets, as one of my gf's coworkers had extras, but we didn't move quickly enough. So I'll probably pop over to my local shuffleboard arena/bar and watch the game from there.

Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 That logo really needs to be retired, but wasn't it great? #LGI #clevelandrocks
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 I trust that Bauer has been kept away from his drone collection this week.
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2017 Author Posted October 5, 2017 Yeah, but he's been taking gardening lessons from Bob Ojeda.
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 3-0 Cleveland, Jay Bruce reflecting Mets glory.
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2017 Author Posted October 6, 2017 Frankie, that at bat sucked. Just saying.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 The Native Americans are leaving opportunities all over the field, which leaves me with the suspicion that the Yanx are going to get two dribblers and a blast and negate the whole thing.Sonny Gray looks like he's a chore to catch (even if you don't have a defensively challenged catcher like Sanchez) and I know he's a chore to watch.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 These AL playoffs are being brought to us by DOOSANI have no idea who/what DOOSAN is.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 Jay Bruce is the best. MFYs regretting they didn't pay thru the ass for him
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2017 Author Posted October 6, 2017 SANTANA 41. It just makes my head explode.
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2017 Author Posted October 6, 2017 The TV screen needs to STFU about this game Bauer is pitching.
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2017 Author Posted October 6, 2017 I mean...was pitching.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 7 LOBsters thru 6 innings for Cleveland (on 2-of-9 w/RiSP)Seems more like 17
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2017 Author Posted October 6, 2017 And three of those were in one inning.
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2017 Author Posted October 6, 2017 Cody Allen coming in to get 4 outs in a non-save situation. Terry F. is taking no chances.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 Nice to get a win in the books AND have Corey Kluber in your pocket for Game 2With all the talk earlier about how few hits the Yanx had (three in total), I didn't realize until the end that the seriously, I just used a racist word when I really meant "Guardians" only had five themselves.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 (edited) GAME 2: Kluber vs Sabathia in a battle of past Cleveland CY winners (2014 / 2007); 5:00 MLBNSabathia, despite looking like toast during various times over the last couple years, actually had himself a nice season for the Yanx [14-5; 3.69; 1.27; 27 starts] as he attempts to reinvent himself froma thrower to a pitcher in his old age (36).That said, he's not Kluber. Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 I hope they pound his fat ass.
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2017 Author Posted October 6, 2017 Kluber not having an easy time of it in the first. 2-0 MFY's on a Gary Sanchez home run.
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2017 Author Posted October 6, 2017 And Sabathia gives the runs right back. I'm listening, not watching, but it doesn't sound like anyone has pitching command tonight....and Encarnacion apparently hurts himself running back to second base on a line drive. Shit.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 seriously, I just used a racist word when I really meant "Guardians" go up 3-2. Get 2 on, sacrifice, MFYs IW, RBI single for Kipnis.Girardi has the bullpen up.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 Damn. This seemed to be almost a lock to get to 2-0.
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2017 Author Posted October 6, 2017 6-3 actually. Anyone can have a bad day, I guess.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 Yeah, I was just hoping that Kluber would have his bad day tomorrow when he wasn't pitching. Like maybe he gets a flat tire on his truck, or his dishwasher breaks down.
