Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 i don't think anyone here is arguing for Ramos based on his save total; we're all sophisticated enough to understand that's an artificial indicator and I don't think it advances anyone's argument to suggest Alderson is saying that either. The control otoh is a concern but in Ramos case you take that in context with a k rates, hr rates, strand rates, ERA+ that have historically been acceptable as big-league bullpenners go. The problem as I look at this year is that he's not having a typical Ramos season. His normally high walk rate jumped even higher, his ground ball rate is way down and his HRs up. I think he's been compromised by injury.

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 I hate to be pessimistic because I'm usually a "glass is half full" kind of Mets fan but I'm having visions of Ramos with a 4 pitch walk to end one of these 3 games.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 I guess I'm more optimistic than you. I think it will be a five-pitch walk.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 guys, I doubt the Mets are going to trade Ramos to the Yankees before this series starts.
