MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2017 Author Posted August 7, 2017 Howie for President. He tells it like it is.Later
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 It doesn't sound like he'd be qualified then. It seems that being "presidential" means making up crazy shit.

The rest of the gang was comprised of Jay Horwitz, Marty Noble, Al Jackson (who had a stroke last year), Dave Howard (who left the organization in 2013) and Tina Mannix (senior marketing director who, based on a look through recent media guides, hasn't been with the organization since maybe 2011).

Good on him for biting the hand, though. Josh Lewin doesn't have the juice to safely make that kind of statement.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 (edited) "Network stooge" seems a little unfair. Just a guy doing his job. Lash out at the network, not the guy.The Mets should let us take over the HOF selection. Edited August 7, 2017 by Guest

Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Me, and I was quoting Howie Rose before the game began. It was early in the thread. And I do get the impression Howie was pissed at ESPN, not the guy, for delaying the start of the game.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Howie has semi-playfully used "network stooge" for years in this situation. I'm sure it's nothing personal, and I'm just as sure he'd maintain that stance to the network stooge's face.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 The Mets bad news Bears, we suck
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 I've seen that movie two dozen times. No.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Man, besides being the subject of one of the two greatest American-produced sports films ever, the Bad News Bears only lost the championship lost by a hair, and it was only because the Yankees exhibited lousy sportsmanship like the real turds they were that denied the Bears glory. But the Bears being the Bears, they knew more joy and vindication as runners-up than the Yankees ever knew as champs. Now that we know a little bit more about Atticus Finch, I think we can safely say that Tanner Boyle is the greatest fictional American hero of the 20th century.I wish the Mets were the Bad News Bears.
