metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Definitely want to see some games at Dodgers Stadium one day LGM
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Christ the Altuve 5 Hour Energy commercial is painful to watch , does he actually talk like that ?
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 I'm 4 pitches in and I'm yawning, like, full body yawn.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Stick around for a bit. Maybe we can get one of those scoreless firsts.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Unfucking real. Another first inning tater. I think the mattress companies have put the Mets up to this. They just DESPERATELY want me to go to bed.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 We can't even get a first out without these guys doing damage.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Oh good. Another 4-0 first inning hole. Feels like yesterday in here. I'm going to go set myself on fire, BRB.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 I've gotten to the point where it's funny.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Bellinger is like an impossible puzzle. We have a 240-pound Cuban lump of pure muscle, and this skinny freak with a perfect swing is impossible to stop.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 West coast trips are where Mets seasons go to die.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 They were pretty dead before boarding the plane.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Tonight's 1st inning epitomizes everything about what our opening defensive frames have been this season:- almost every ground ball finds a hole- those grounders that don't find holes become errors anyway- throw in a walk or two- potential GiDPs aren't turned - the pitcher in immediate pitch-count hell- and, of course, 1st inning bomb(s)
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 I feel like Ann Coulter was behind home plate a few minutes ago. Now Peter Fonda or some other super-rich hippy has her seat.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 2nd inning update:- Gsellman is on pace to need 270 pitches in order to finish the game- and the game itself is on pace to last 3:45 (aka: ten minutes to two AM) or maybe more like 3:35 since the Dodgers most likely won't have to bat in bottom 9Other than that it's going OK though
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 I have no memory of this McCarthy guy as a Yanqui ... (looking it up) 14 starts in 2014 with a 7-5 record and sub-3.00 ERA
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Thank you Mets for a truly awful hour of baseball. Off to bed. Fitting end to a shit day.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 We don't turn many DPs, but we're sure good at hitting into them.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Tommy Lasorda was 0-4 with a 6.48 ERA in 26 appearances (5 starts) in his major league career. It's possible that the 56 walks in 58 innings might have had something to do with all that.
Guest cooby Guests Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 I does appear that they are trying to help us get our beauty sleep.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Come on! An inside-out homer by the shortstop? I'm calling BS.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 T J flashin' some leather, woke me up for maybe another inning...

Evers, of course, was the Troy, NY born 2B man of Tinker-Evers-Chance fame. He's listed in BB-Ref as 5' 9" / 125 !! I mean, shit, I was skinny as a teenager (as opposed to the big, husky lad I am now) and weighed around 130 back when I was 5' 9" at 16 or so years old. But this was a full grown man at that height and only 125 lbs. And he won an MVP at one point!Perhaps not surprisingly, he hit all of 12 HRs over a 15 year career Edited June 21, 2017 by Guest
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 I just read Verduccis Sports Illustrated article and it's extremely depressing, sort of confirms what I already sensed, and combined with what looks like it could be not only an awful season for the Mets but a dull pennant race on top of it am suddenly very worried for the future of obb
