G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 Cards swoop up the lefty.Rule 5er who rarely seemed worth the trouble. Hit well for a pitcher. Wore stirrups. Fox-y gf. Three scoreless IP in the 18 inning affair at St. Louis, the kind of game that gets a Sean Gilmartin action.Bye.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 A genial guy, if not a terrific pitcher. There's some untapped potential, but I don't think the Mets were ever going to tap it. I'd wish him good luck but, you know, the Cardinals....

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 His gf is an idiot. That's the first thing I associate with him.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 I thank him for his service and hope he never records another out in a major league uniform.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 Pitched remarkably well as a Rule V-er, given the role Rule V-er's get: irregular work, lots of rest, benevolent spots, and emergency duty.Given a chance for high leverage roles, it all went sideways.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 I spoke to him very briefly during spring training and he seemed like a nice guy. Seemed to have potential -- until we needed him to step it up and reach the potential.Best of luck to him. I hope he does well, unless we are facing him.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 S/He was a party/Rule-5 pickup, had some good times in the beginning but it didn't last and now you've both moved on with no hard feelings. It happens.

smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 I think the Mets pressed their luck with him when they sent him back to Vegas to stretch out after a pretty good year for us in the pen. He hasn't been right since, but he's a lefty with a pulse so he'll get his share of chances to redeem himself.
