metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 "it's still April" ...tired of hearing that too. I would love to be in Alderon's office right now, assuming he is in there too
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2017 Author Posted April 27, 2017 Who pushed Thor back? Inexcusable unless there is something we don't know.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 (edited) Syndergaard wasn't pushed back, he just wasn't pushed up the way they announced initially. It was always Gsellman's turn in the rotation.Put another way, Gsellman was either going to go tonight or sometime this weekend vs the Nationals. Take your pick. Edited April 27, 2017 by Guest
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 Terry and those three errors tonight, inexcusable.

smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 In the case of both Cespedes and Syndegaard, you have to trust your doctors, and if that is all Alderson or Collins is guilty of, then you can't blame the situation on them. But if somebody rushed them back against the recommendation of the Mets' doctors, that would be a very different story.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2017 Author Posted May 7, 2017 We may be Las Vegas by year end.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 He's nothing if not consistent.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 (Channeling Bob Klapish here) While we've been talking about his tactics for a long time, its been kind of a relief that (I'm paraphrasing and summarizing here) "he does a good job managing the clubhouse". Now, with news that Harvey has been pushing the envelope of team rules for a while, are we sure Terry's been doing a good job in the clubhouse all this time? What have we not heard about?Later
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2017 Author Posted May 16, 2017 Terry can take a different flight home. Just sayin.Start the rebuild.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 The Mets do have a history of firing two-time postseason managers shortly after they've managed their 1,000th game.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2017 Author Posted June 2, 2017 That seat for Terry may be getting warmer.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2017 Author Posted June 4, 2017 Jeff Wilpon can't take to many more days like today.Off to Texas. ouch.Road trips seem like a nice time to can managers.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 There are a number of people I'd fire before I got to Terry.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted June 5, 2017 Posted June 5, 2017 Terry's not the one failing to pitch and I think it'd be foolish not to conduct the search for his replacement with the full due-diligence you can only give it during the offseason. That's how you end up with "managers" like Jerry Manuel

Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted June 5, 2017 Posted June 5, 2017 Terry wasn't 3-26 with RISP (or whatever the terrible # was) this weekend either.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2017 Author Posted June 7, 2017 Terry and Sandy can leave together.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 Interestingly not seeing a huge clamor for Wally on Twatter , saw something floating around on Hojo "is the answer".Firing Terry wouldn't do anything, 12 games back etc
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 The genesis of the "HoJo is the answer" movement was a social media video advocating for such put up by a possibly drunk but certainly addled Lenny Dykstra. It's a miserable thing to watch. If it's beyond your capacity to feel pity for Dykstra at this point, you'll feel something in your stomach, possibly pity for humankind.
