Apparently not. I think that last one had stopped before it got to Cespedes.

Maybe one solid hit? That's all I've seen.

After the opener, where we scored all those runs w/o a home run, I thought, excellent, we can score runs w/o the long ball. That's what we need to do and there's no stopping us!
And then back to last seasons form.

6-1

More like three: the triple, the HR, and then that last RBI single right after I posted the last one.
But in between they've had a ton of shit.

Of course we've had less than shit so it's not like we'd be winning if only we had better luck.

In the meantime the fans have just what they want on a 40 degree windy night, a blowout that's two hours old and not even half over yet.

Yeah, one bad inning and that's enough for me too. So as of tomorrow, Smoker, Wheeler, Montero, and Robles are all off the team.

Not at all. I'd rather have a position player than so many pitchers.

I liked the 4 starter era with a staff of 9 or 10. And no I likely will not see that again.

Montero actually looks pretty good tonight.

Yikes, Bour just misses a homer.

Crap. I shouldn't have said anything about Montero. Since I typed that a single and walk puts two Fish on. Two out.

7-1
Come-OOOOON! We can score seven runs.

He gets out of it. Two blank frames .

Booth says they are gonna whip out some baseball cards!
I'm betting ToppsNOW, with all the publicity about the Colon card that Thor gave to Bartolo.

Conforto will pinch hit in the 7th. Man, it's gotta be tough coming off the bench in this cold

Wow, Topps gave the booth a 5000 count box of random baseball cards from various years. At first I thought they were all Mets and I almost fainted.

I loved it. Not one Mets card though. WTF Topps?

That Joe Foy was Royals. Nice airbrushed cap.

"You sure about that?"

- Me, after seeing that ninth-inning PH appearance

-- I'm rooting for Wheeler as much as anybody, but jeez, he remains a tough watch. And, yeah, granted, tonight was a struggle... but it's no picnic on the good nights either, which typically still include a couple of inexplicable walks and six innings in 2 1/2 hours.

-- I have faith in Smoker. Montero... he worries me. Specifically, the nibbling, and the fact that he seems bolder and better in low-leverage situations.

-- So... the organ-eye-zation really doesn't have a high opinion of Travvy's baseballing abilities, does it?

-- Man alive, if we can't win the starting pitching battle with these guys in a particular game... what chance do we have?
