Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Now THAT looks like Opening Day!
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Whoa that probably is the OD nine but I think my lineup might be more likeGrandy-Cabrera-Cespsy-Doodoo-Walker-Bruce-Reyes-dArnaud, perhaps switching Grandy and Reyes, or Cabrera and Reyes.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 If we are dreaming, then Mike Trout is in that lineup someplace.Back closer to reality, I am hoping that Conforto performs so well he forces his way into the middle of the lineup. I know this might be wishful thinking, but I feel like he can do it.Eventually I'd love to see this:1. Reyes 3B2. Cabrera SS3. Conforto CF4. Cespedes LF5. Duda 1B6. Walker 2B7. Granderson CF8. d'Arnaud CIf Cabrera doesn't hit well enough to stay at #2, you can flip flop him with Walker.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 And if Walker has the kind of year I fear you replace him with Cecchini
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Right! Or Floreboom, or Rivera. Some depth here is good.I'm high on Cecchini. Not sure why. Just seems hitter-ish to me.

For a day or two, it seemed that something was imminent. I wonder if these negotiations have been temporarily paused, or if they've abandoned the idea until after the season?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Thor's given up two singles thru 4 ... Yay!!Mets have three singles thru 4 (to go with their only three or four yesterday) ... Boo!!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Ninth inning. Five hits. No runs.Opening Day lineup, you say?
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Syndergaard 6 innings, 4 hits, 1 run, no walks, 5 strikeouts. And the loss.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 They pretty much went with their #1 bucket brigade out of the pen: Salas and Blevvy for the seventh, Reedy for the eight, and Dangling Familia for the ninth.
Guest sharpie Guests Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 5 stolen bases for 'Stros (4 against Syndergaard, 3 of those from Derek Fisher), 1 caught stealing for Mets.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 So that's two games in two days with no runs combined on a total of 9 hits, most of them singles, and pretty much with full-strength lineups in (although the starters didn't necessarily go all nine).Among other things they loaded the bases with none out in the 8th today but didn't score.Yup, sounds like mid-season form to me.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 I didn't see most of the game; were the stolen bases more off Noah(who I think has been working on some delivery/windup stuff) or off Travis's d'noodle arm? 9-10 days until the games count, would be nice to scoring some runs.
