Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 I'm Irish and I'm Jewish and that adds up to funny. I tip the scales at about 185, and look like a Met from the Joe Torre era. But I'll play every position for you, and I switch hit, so I'm never going to bail out on you. There's always a place for the Jeff McKnights of this world, and perhaps, with shorter benches, even moreso these days. A double-switch specialist, that's what I am.But the Mets. The Mets removed me from their roster while carrying a whole bunch of Monteros, Flexens, Sean Gilmartin and his spinmistress girlfriend. Not cool. Right now, I'm in the WBC taking my blues out on the Koreans, the Tiawanese, and countless screaming Dutchmen. Excuse the drama, but even clowns get angry sometimes. What does 2017 hold in store for this clown?[fimg=349:wjedigds]https://static01.nyt.com/images/2016/05/25/sports/25-Y-METS/25-Y-METS-master768.jpg[/fimg:wjedigds] [fimg=351:wjedigds]http://media.nj.com/mets_main/photo/mlb-spring-training-new-york-mets-at-houston-astros-94d04cdce6932c06.jpg[/fimg:wjedigds][fimg=280:wjedigds]https://pbs.twimg.com/profile_images/829132468582117376/z6QTIG5B.jpg[/fimg:wjedigds] [fimg=420:wjedigds]http://media.nj.com/mets_main/photo/mlb-new-york-mets-at-washington-nationals-8d8e669947f07e5a.jpg[/fimg:wjedigds]
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 He'll start the season at Las Vegas, but because of his versatility will be the first player called up when someone gets hurt (or an occasional paternity leave). He may play 20-40 intermittent games, hitting .240/ .310/ 370.Does Mazel (luck) Go Braugh make sense?Later
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 Will be back on the roster before long. Will play a key part in at least one wild comeback. Will run everything out.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 I like this guy and am CAHNfident he gets his whacks one way or another, mostly in Vegas but also on the big club. Not ruling out he makes the OD roster as our bench looks too righthanded (Lagares, Rivera I, Rivera II, Flores, Reynolds etc vs. Zimmo/Conforto, one of which looks likely to start in AAA).In fact I'll predict he does go North at Teej's expense, taking Gilmartin's roster space as he does. When he hits 219/300/450 in limited versatile duty, that's when he goes back to Vegas.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 8, 2017 Author Posted March 8, 2017 Why'd you send him down, Sandy! That's a pretty beefy .219 he's hitting!
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 I'm hoping that this season there will be no reason for a "Get off the Interstate" thread.
