I think I disliked Rich Rodriguez as much as any Mets reliever ever.

TWO ABs:
12. 1965-66: Got to share a rookie card with Rob Gardner, at least?
30. 2003: Seven runs in three innings in his MLB debut, five runs in six innings three weeks later, and that was it for his MLB career.

ONE AB:
ALMONTE 1. 2003: Came over from the White Sox in the Alomar deal; had an 11.12 ERA as a Met.
BENNETT 2. 2001: Catcher who was a Met for a month in July/August in between stops in Colorado and Philly.
BLEVINS 3. 2015-16: LOOGY who appeared in 80 games.
CAMMACK 4. 2000: Triple!
5. 2014-15: Reliever -- best known as a Brave, probably? -- DFAed twice in 2014 but kept coming back.
CLIPPARD 6. 2015: Deadline acquisition for the bullpen.
COREY 7. 2001-02: RHP caught up in the Grant Roberts weed "scandal."
DEWEY 8. 1992: RHP who also pitched for the Pirates and Giants.
9. 2012-2016: LOOGY.
10. 1995: Not a mob boss as far as I know.
11. 1962: RHP who only got into five games in 1962; traded the following season to Milwaukee but never made it back to the bigs.
GARDNER 12. 1984-85: RHP who got us Bobby O.
GOEDDEL 13. 2014-16: Wore #62.
GREEN 14. 2009-10: Submariner who was the best (?) part of the Putz deal.
GREENE 15. 1996: Catcher who only made it into 55 games across five seasons with the Mets, O's, Brewers, and Jays.
16. 1967: LHP with too many consonants in his name who played part of 8 MLB seasons.
HAMPSON 17. 2012: Only gave up two runs in ten innings out of the pen as a Met.
HILLMAN 18. 1962: Way shorter than the unrelated later Met.
HINCHLIFFE 19. 2001: One game, two innings pitched, eight earned runs.
20. 1964-67: Shared rookie cards with both Bill Wakefield and Gary Kroll.
HUMBER 21. 2006-07: Pitched one magical game in April 2012.
JORDAN 22. 1997: LHRP acquired in the Brogna/Borland deal.
JULIO 23. 2006: Closed in Baltimore, than had a 5.06 ERA as a Met.
KASHIWADA 24. 1997: LHP who only spent one season in the States.
KOMIYAMA 25. 2002: RHP who only spent one season in the States.

28. 1962: G.
29. 1998: Acquired from Florida for Rob Stratton, AJ Burnett, and Jesus Sanchez.
MILLIGAN 30. 1987: Slugged his way through the minor leagues, but didn't break through until two teams later, in Baltimore.
MORGAN 31. 1997: Mets Director of Minor League Operations.
MOTA 32. 2006-07: Punk best known for being a d-bag in a spring training game. ROIDS.

45. 2002-03: RHP who was out of baseball by 24.
46. 2002-03: Excellent bullpenner who never really made it back from TJS in 2003.
47. 1964: Went 16-6 for the MFYs in 1957.
48. 1998-99: spent three solid years in the Oakland pen from 2000-02.

Leftover 12: Dave Eilers (who I conflate with Dave Eiland, who I kept thinking of before landing on Billy Connors when the clue was MFY pitching coach).

Leftover 30: Jason Roach, who I do remember being a lousy pitcher, but remember more for getting a hit in one of his at-bats.

It was a good Don Florence joke. He was my initial guess (I was flummoxed when they let him go after he went, I think, 3-0), but I was thinking, "Did the Mets have a reliever named Gambino?"

Also, my late father's girlfriend of nearly 25 years is named Florence, and I was thinking, "She's not mobbed up."
