G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Antonio Bastardo's last Mets game should be listed as 7/30/2016, the night they retired Piazza's number as well as everybody's patience where the slowest lefty who ever lived between pitches was concerned. Thank you for your indulgence.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Thanks for pointing that out. It's been fixed.I checked to see if there were any other similar problems and I found one: Justin Ruggiano had the wrong first game: July 31 instead of July 30. These values get updated automatically whenever I paste in a box score, but something must have gone wrong when I pasted the July 30 box score.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2017 Author Posted February 15, 2017 I thank you and posterity thanks you.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2017 Author Posted May 19, 2017 Mac Scarce, No. 44 in 1975 (per latest edition of MBTN, BB Ref, 1975 yearbook and 42-year-old memory), is listed on UMDB, both on his player page and the numbers page, as No. 33.Anywhere else, I'd say, "believe it or not, the subject of Mac Scarce's number came up in conversation last night," but here it doesn't seem like something I'd have to convince anybody of.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 I'll have to defer to John Cougar Lunchbucket on this one...
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 I will look it up, it's possible Mac was overlooked when I ported my data to the umdb
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2017 Author Posted September 1, 2017 Jim Gosger was acquired from the Pilots on July 14, 1969, as a player to be named later from the Greg Goossen deal on February 5. He is listed on UMDB as purchased from the Pirates on September 9, which was two days after his first game as a Met. He had been with Tidewater for 58 games in '69.The Cubs' acquisition of Rene Rivera by waiver claim on August 19, 2017, same day as what is now known as the Jacob Rhame trade, has not been added to the transactions page. Sure, you and I know it happened, but what of future generations?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 I'm afraid I've been a somewhat neglectful steward of the UMDB lately. Thanks for pointing out the Rene Rivera thing. As for Jim Gosger, I don't know what happened there, but it's been corrected.I also still have to add the Neil Walker trade to the Brewers (once known as the Seattle Pilots) but I'm waiting for the players to be named later.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2017 Author Posted September 1, 2017 Keeping in touch with Stockholm soaks up a lot of a steward's bandwidth.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2017 Posted September 4, 2017 Yankee fans must be reading the UMBD because Tyler Clippard is an all-time more popular look-up there than Noah Syndergaard.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 The trade has been officially logged in the Ultimate Mets Database. Some day, Eric Hanhold will be a household name. At least, in his household.

batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 The UMBD 2017 Mets page lists a "Nick Carr". Who's that?http://www.leaptoad.com/mets/metannual.php?ThisYear=2017
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 Short term replacement for Peter Criss, makeup was "The Fox"

I thought I had fully fixed my mistake, but I guess I missed a step.Nick Carr no longer appears on that page.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 He lasted longer than The Fox.

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2017 Author Posted September 28, 2017 I notice the Other Teams drag down menu continues to list the Florida Marlins rather than the Miami Marlins. Don't know if this is an aesthetic call or a detail that escaped the Ultimate arbiter's attention when the Marlins rebranded in 2012.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 You really keep me honest! No, this one's an oversight. The lack of an update to the name of the Angels, however, is intentional.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 A few years ago, you created graphs for each player, showing which games they played (and didn't play). I forgot how to access those.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 Select a season, then click the Charts and Graphs tab.http://leaptoad.com/mets/metannual.php?ThisYear=2017&tabno=C
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 If I select 1890-1961 from the SEASONS menu, I totally get 404'd. And then I feel sad.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 Thanks for letting me know! I'll take a look when I get a chance as part of my ongoing effort to make the world less sad.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Please give it another try.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 That's great, thanks.Perhaps the menu should be titled "YEARS," since it covers the whole year, beyond the baseball schedule, and it includes years without any Mets season at all. Also, perhaps pre-1962 years could appear on that menu that include dates beyond the birthdays of Mets uniform personnel, like finding Joan Payson's birth in 1903, or finding the birth of Polo Grounds III in 1891.
