Guest cooby Guests Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 I think I'm about 0 for whatever this year. Love little Wilmer so I'm voting for him
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Who doesn't love Wilmer?But I'll still go with the exploding sheep sound.Later
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 I went with Ces. The headline pun isn't that great, but otherwise lots of good things about the cover. First off, a great moment in the season. I didn't think for a second they would pitch to him. But then they left one out over the plate and it was over. Jumped out of my seat for that one. Love the bat flip. Reminds me of the one he hit against the Dodgers in Game 3 that nearly brought Citi down. Also, the picture is great. He just looks so cool. And I love how the headline sets up against (and behind) the picture. Wil Power is fun too, but if Wilmer is the star of the photo, it should be about him exulting, not crouched down as Cabrera takes the helmet.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2017 Author Posted January 18, 2017 I can see, by clicking on the links above, that I've never voted against either of these covers. But I'm now all in on CES BOOM BAH!, and I don't think I'll be voting against it at all, come what may.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 I applaud the News keeping alive phrases that would otherwise languish in Bugs Bunny's subconscious.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted January 25, 2017 Author Posted January 25, 2017 CES BOOM BAH has easily defeated WIL POWER and becomes the second Daily News cover (both featuring Yoenis Cespedes) to advance to the Final Four. Tomorrow it will face off against the winner of 11th HEAVEN vs. THE HAIR APPARENT.
