smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 There was a point in the season when I had 8 pitchers on the DL and another one suspended. But until yesterday I had spent the last two weeks in first place. As Joe Walsh once said, I can't complain but sometimes I still do.
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 i gotta say, i miss having kershaw.... though he wouldn't necessarily solve my pitching staff, he sure wouldn't hurt it right now. my staff is so completely and utterly revamped from the start of the season, that it kinda hurts my head. bottom line, i suppose, is that i'm glad i stuck with severino. heck, my offense has seen a hell of a lot of turnover as well.I've currently got so, so many decent cheap slugging outfielders and 1bmen that i really cannot play them all. i mean, shit, i've got miggy cabrera sitting on my damn bench and he's my most expensive player!
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 you guys stole every last guy I auctioned. bleh, I knew I should've just overpaid for one rather than spreading the love and hoping to keep the ones that weren't just having a good month.
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 yeah, man. there's a lot of dollars still out there burning a hole in every team's pocket. at this point, you probably have to pay double what a guy is probably worth in the draft, or just hope to get really lucky.is there a type of player you might be in particular need of? i'm developing a bit of a surplus of players. btw... please don't quit fantasy. you're the commish of my favorite fantasy league, dangit!

I'm sure by next spring things will have calm down some and I won't feel as overwhelmed.
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 damn, my desperate run to catch first is sputtering... sigh...
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 Well congrats to Easton.I actually thought I had a shot, was in 2nd place and gaining in late August but in the end I was let down by the infield (Seager and Kinsler had terrible years, relatively speaking). The idea with the Scherzer trade was to get the payroll back into shape, hope I hung on in the pitching categories (which I mostly did) and gain in OBP and SLG, which was way out of whack with my RS and HR production. The OBP did tick up but not enough; and I gave it back on SLG. 4th place again. We badly need divisions!
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 Divison and a playoff situation would be kinda cool, yes.
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 hmm, in every year of this league, my pitchers have had the highest strikeout total. too bad they couldn't do a goddamned thing else well....
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 don't mind me, just posting in the thread so that it finally comes up as having been read. apparently, when users don't exist anymore, the threads they participated in (or polluted) remain unread.
