Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 Woo hoo, the Mets win (almost despite themselves). Great game by DeGrom and the bullpen.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 Oh, and the lead is down to two. How fast things can turn around. Suddenly the Mets are surging and the Nats are plummeting.
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 I'm thankful for two things:-The Mets won.-I don't have to listen to Verducci any longer. Not necessarily in that order.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2016 Author Posted June 25, 2016 That's a pretty good line.

Ha, really? I watch them every day and I haven't noticed that.On a 3-1 count Julio throws one high and tight that Cespedes swings at, making it 3-2. Looked like it could have been a ball."I'd do that again, only throw it a little higher."And did he say earlier that the Mets got Reyes to lead off from now on? What an idiot.

The only thing he's EVER had on Conforto-- even during the disConfort of his slump-- is that he can play other OF positions poorly. I'm so beyond okay with his leaving that if he latched on with an NL rival post-release and killed us down the stretch with clutch pinch-hits and diving catches, I wouldn't even be mad. I'd tip my hat, and move on, because I'd be way too busy prepping my basement zombie shelter, napping to the sounds of the flying swine above, and awaiting the fiery, Nationals-red end of the world.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Alejandro's job was Nimmo's to take, and now he's got a first real chance at taking it.The truth is, though, that seeing as they are carrying only four outfielders, there's a good chance he'll stick around at least until the return of Lagares. He's got to fall behind Nimmo, Conforto, and some other guy.
