Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 LA Dodgers at NY MetsWhen: 8:00 PM ET, Sunday, May 29, 2016Where: Citi Field, New York City, New YorkSportsDirect Inc.While New York Mets nemesis Chase Utley has been the hearing it from the Citi Field faithful, nary a peep of late has come from the opposition against Los Angeles Dodgers teammate Clayton Kershaw. The three-time National League Cy Young Award winner looks to continue his scintillating run on Sunday night as visiting Los Angeles plays the rubber match of its three-game series versus New York.Kershaw improved to 7-0 lifetime against the Mets on May 12, scattering three hits and striking out 13 in a 5-0 rout for the second of three shutouts in his last five outings. While Kershaw's recent performances have drawn rave reviews, Utley has turned down the sound of the Mets fans by driving in nine of the Dodgers' 14 runs in the first two games of this series. The 37-year-old was unfazed after Noah Syndergaard's fastball sailed behind him as his grand slam highlighted his two-homer performance in Saturday's 9-1 win. Utley also has tormented Sunday starter Bartolo Colon, against whom he went deep on May 12 and is 10-for-20 (.500) in his career. TV: 8 p.m. ET, ESPN2PITCHING MATCHUP: Dodgers LH Clayton Kershaw (7-1, 1.48 ERA) vs. Mets RH Bartolo Colon (4-3, 3.44)Kershaw has yielded three earned runs in his last 42 innings, fanning a staggering 55 batters against two walks in that stretch. The 28-year-old saw his franchise-best streak of double-digit strikeouts snapped after six starts as he fanned only seven in a two-hitter versus Cincinnati on Monday. New York's Juan Lagares provided his team's lone offense on Saturday with his second homer in as many contests, but the 27-year-old is 0-for-10 lifetime against Kershaw.Colon turned in his worst start of the season versus Los Angeles on May 12, falling to 2-6 lifetime against the club after allowing five runs in as many innings of a 5-0 setback. The 43-year-old Dominican has struggled mightily versus Adrian Gonzalez, who is 12-for-27 (.444) against the hurler and 6-for-9 (.667) with three runs scored in this series. Colon pitched significantly better in his last outing on Monday, yielding just one run in seven frames of a 7-1 victory over Washington.WALK-OFFS:1. New York GM Sandy Alderson told reporters that he has "a little bit of concern" about the health of veteran 3B David Wright, who sat out Saturday's tilt with neck discomfort after being examined by a team doctor.2. Los Angeles 3B Justin Turner is 1-for-8 with four strikeouts in this series and 4-for-18 (.222) against his former team this season.3. The Mets acquired James Loney from San Diego for cash considerations on Saturday in the wake of fellow 1B Lucas Duda being sidelined by a stress fracture in his lower back.

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 Well, if he could hit Utley in the dugout, that'd be an ejection worth taking.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 Wilmers gonna be big tonight. I just know it.I gotta feel for Campbell. If you want to hear bad shit about Campy just put him in the lineup. Everyone goes apeshit. It doesn't help that he looks like me if I was playing ball on an MLB field. At my current age.Campy parks one tonight. Yes even off the ridiculous pitching of Clayton (I still want credit if it's off the pen).Lags will make some kind of great play.Colon will go 8!Plawecki throws a guy out but it is reversed.Murphy will make an error in his game w/Nats.I'm on a roll, somebody stop meh!T'C will run out......
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 ESPN has chosen their story line. CLAYTON KERSHAW vs some random baseball team whose name seems to elude them.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 Boy, Colon in those '86 racing stripes looks even fatter, if that's possible.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 Plate him, Cespy!Yeah, squeeze if you gotta!

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 I forgot to add that Grandy would lead off the game with a hit and be........stranded @3rd? I would never predict that.We made him throw quite a few pitches in the 1st tho. But ugh, that fuckin slider.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 Real men get the run home. And they're not proud about how they do it.
Guest cooby Guests Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 For a while, I thought we were going to have to watch effing girls softball, which I would rather die than watch.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 Colon's soft pitches are inducing soft contact. Hmm.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 Mrs. Edgy: "Kershaw, huh? Who do the Mets have pitching?"Edgy: //Winds and throws in demonstrably soft-tossing manner, effecting Bartolo imitation // shakes belly//Mrs. Edgy: "Matt Harvey?"
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 ^lmao.Colon has some good sink. I think we have to good Colon tonight. And boy, do we ever need him. Course I'm not worried. He's going 8.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 Clayton Kershaw looks a bit like Tom Waits's more athletic and somewhat cleaned-up brother.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 Kershaw this season: 99 strikeouts, 5 walks.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 Of course no soft contact for Mr. Utley. Maybe Chase wants me to hate him.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 I thought this was funny (break a leg placard). Apparently I'm the only one.The for President one might be serious.
