Edgy MD Site Manager Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 You have about $3 million to spend. Maybe two or maybe four. Which of these right-handed hitting reserve/platoon outfielders do you go for?Feel free to go off book here. Just mind the budget.[fimg=400:2afku3lf]http://www.southlondonbaseball.com/public_html/image/Fielding-Outfielder.png[/fimg:2afku3lf]
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 Byrd likely too expensive for $3M budget and likely gets an offer with more guaranteed PT. Would need to up budget and appeal to his lack of World Series ringzzzz.Pearce would fit nicely in that Mets have an opening for a guy who wears #28. But he seems very unpredictable, as does Rayburn. No Frenchy!
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 How does a team guarantee playing time?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 It's more of a promise of intent than an ironclad guarantee.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 Shades of K-Rod.

A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 The Indians signed Rajai Davis yesterday for $5.25M. Too steep for our blood.http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/12/indians-to-sign-rajai-davis.html
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 I'm a little bit surprised we didn't get in on Justin Ruggiano, whom the Rangers got for less than $2M.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 to be fair, I use all my mashers lefty. [fimg=700:3li1in3o]http://www.mallewtrousseau.com/sites/default/files/MWT%20Presse-Puree.png[/fimg:3li1in3o]
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Raburn also pitches. So there's that.Pearce also plays second. So there's THAT.Pearce is poor-to-fair with the glove. Rayburn-- at this point-- is close-to-Gawdawful. Plus, Pearce is a little younger. Give me the younger, cheaper (most likely?) one, who could actually start for a month if needed to.
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 the winner? some other guy!
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 whatever other guy happens to be left after the real teams sign their FAs.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted December 23, 2015 Author Posted December 23, 2015 Oh, I thought there was some Mets transaction I had missed. How kind of you to refer to Frenchy as the sort of player real teams sign. I'd be flattered if I were him.
