Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Cuz I'd be shocked if we haven't seen the last of Tejada until April. And, if so, who would it be?Has to be someone who can cover SS
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Yes, TOR just replaced Cecil. The Mets don't have another SS on the "taxi squad" so Flores needs to stay clear of Utley.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 My guess is Eric Campbell, and he (or Kelly Johnson) would only play shortstop in an emergency situation.I believe they can replace Ruben during the series. He would be ineligible to play in the NLCS but could (in theory) play again in the World Series.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Fractured fibula is the report on Ruben.Watching the replay it's hard to see how he broke his leg; he landed on his back.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Ruben's right leg was planted as Utley crashed into him.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 I'm hoping Danny Muno can be an option.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 I kinda like Hererra. Can he be recalled?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 I don't know how much it matters, but Herrera was sent home, and Campbell is on standby in Port St. Lucie. I imagine he'll be the guy. He'd be an "emergency shortstop", I'd think, and Wilmer will try to play every inning at shortstop.Definitely not ideal, but that's where we are.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Eric Campbell soup come on up. It is your time.
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 What about Uribe? Was t he going to be re-evaluated after this series anyway?

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Matt Reynolds is the replacement. Would be 2nd modern-day player to make MLB debut in postseason.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Wow! Interesting! What if he shows up and they find out he's already gained 120 pounds of off-season weight?

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 He's been taxi-squadding w/o fanfare in PSL. Maybe Sandy has a lefty specialist warming up down there as well.

Everybody goes through them when they are removed from the 40.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Mets.com said they were stitching No. 60 on his uni last night.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 This is amazing. Should he enter a game, he'll be only the second player (after former-Met farmhand Mark Kiger) since 1885 (Bug Holliday of YOUR CINCINNATI REDSTOCKINGS) to debut in the post-season.It's crazy to be offline for a few hours and come back and find the whole world has changed.
Farmer Ted Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Reynolds...give him a full share!"The shares meeting is always an interesting exercise in human dynamics, sort of a microcosm of democracy. Rickey (Henderson) was the most generous guy I ever played with, and whenever the discussion came around to what we should give one of the fringe peoplewhether it was a minor leaguer who came up for a few days or the parking lot attendantRickey would shout out, Full share! Wed argue for a while and hed say, 'Fuck that! You can change somebodys life! I admired Rickeys heart, but I usually came down somewhere in the middle.--Mike Piazza
