I'm probably reading between the lines too much, but I'd say that sounds like two guys who are a little bit done with having your back.

Well, there was a sliver of time when no one on the team knew why he was not there/late.

These questions could have been asked during that sliver. It's hard to get hung up on traffic as the excuse.

I thought he had just reached his mandatory workout limit.

As a BTW, I never go for the team gear they market every season. That's not entirely true. I have a decent collection of Mets jerseys, game worn and authentic looking recreations. But I never go for the t-shirts and sweaters and other stuff baseball markets every year. But this year, I'm really digging those Majestic Hoodies every team is wearing. I'm talking about these:

Of course Harvey wasn't caught in traffic at all, or if he was, he was already very late since he apparently didn't leave for the park until atleast an hour before he was supposed to be there.

That aside, there's a difference to being late, because of traffic, which can happen to anybody, and not showing up at all. And Harvey didn't show up at all, correct?
