Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Cripes. The Rockies owe us all 5 minutes.Thats fucked up, TC should have ran out there. But I suppose he would like to get the same treatment.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Terry HAS gotten the same treatment. What makes it weird is that he didn't seem to be asking the ump who made the call, whose decision it should be.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Tacking on the 1st inning double, if Cespedes goes deep again tonight (and he might still have two more cracks at it) I believe he'll tie the all-time Total Bases record for one game.Joe Aadcock (Braves - late '50s) had a double along with his 4 HR game for 18 TBs
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Man, does this Kahnle guy look like an eighties throwback or what?He should be named an honorary 1993 Phil, who were culturally 80s themselves.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Meh, we'll take it. 5 hits. Amazin'
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Edgy MD wrote:15 total bases. And there are five more outs to go and he's seven spots away from getting another AB - and at the rate this game is going I'd say it's almost likely to happen. So the prospect of 19 TBs is in play.Plus we might even win the game.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Oh, deesnutz, that ball four was bogus.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Somebody poke that man/woman in the Phillies hat. I'm getting creeped out.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 This is kind of fun. I like to visit Coors Field but I wouldn't want to live there.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Grandy almost lost one.13-9 Mets, NY up in the 9th.Gimme a caption for the Cespedes card I'm gonna whip up.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Fonzie, your legacy is secure. Now let's win. And yeah, let Clippard start the inning.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Cespedes' stat sheet includes two positions played.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 And somehow this game was five minutes shorter than the Yanx 7-3 loss to Cleveland.God how I hate the American League.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 I just finished watching this game about five minutes ago. I went to bed last night knowing that the Nationals had lost, but completely unaware of anything about the Mets-Rockies game. When I was walking the dog this morning before I watched the game I found myself thinking that the magic number was either 38 or 37. Happily, I now know that it's 37.When the score went to 7-1 I was thinking that the game wouldn't have much suspense. I was wrong. Also, right now I'm willing to have the Mets give Yoenis Cespedes a twenty-year contract. I expect that feeling will fade a bit.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 I didn't, but I was watching the Colorado telecast.

I, too, was creeped out.
