Kelly Johnson, if he takes the field as expected, will be the eleventh uniformed Met Johnson in Met history, counting coaches and managers.

Name the other ten. One at a time. No double posting.

I must disqualify myself because I read this.

Nice to see some new numbers going up JCL.

Bob

Can we get a little more? The judges are asking.

I'm nothing if not obvious.

Davey!

Michigan Johnson is right about Davey Johnson being right.

Ben

That's the spirit!

I'm intrigued!

HoJo qualifies as a player and a coach. A lefty and a righty. An infielder and an outfielder.

That's what you get for reading.

OK, there was one Bob Johnson and then there was the other Bob Johnson

Lance Johnson. If only we had a fast outfielder that could hit and get on base with regularity on the current team.

It's like playing by the rules isn't in his DNA, folks!

Y'know this thread made it occur to me that if you're a fan with a common name like Johnson or Smith (or increasingly these days Hernandez or Perez) the thing to do would be to buy your team's jersey with your same-name player on it only with velcro numbers. That way you could easily replace the digits when your team trades/signs a new player with your name and always have the thing era-appropriate without having to shell out for a new jersey every couple of years.

Mark Johnson was alright. Pulled a home run back in that MoFo Picnic game.

While wearing black long sleeves in the 100+ degree heat. Lord it was hot and humid that day, but what a great time and the Mets won.

Deron Johnson was one of the coaches (in addition to Howard who was already mentioned in the player category).

I have no memory of Ben Johnson except that his name makes me think that he was the designated runner until he got busted for steroids.

Deron Johnson replaced Dick Sisler on Joe Torre's staff for the strike-shortened 1981 season. Swept out with everybody else following the season. Had DH'd for the A's in 1973 and helped them beat the Mets in the Series. Ended up dying at only 53.
