Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Ugh, this is a tough one to watch. Why more than some of the other more recent loses? I dunno. Maybe because this will be 6 in a row. If we give back that 11 game winning streak we will never recover.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Got K-Rod in the ninth. All the more sweet if we come back against him.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Terry needs to get run.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Catcher isn't even setting up in the strike zone. Why should he?

A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 That sucked. The 'Keith emoji' is only thing that made me smile.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 At least they went down fighting:6th: K, K, GO7th: GO. LO, HBP, K8th: K, K, GO9th: K, K, GOLast balls off NYM bats to leave the infield? Oh those were back in the 4th inning. They were still outs mind you, but at least they got past the infield dirt. For the last hit you need to go back to the 3rd.But it's not like we were facing the league's worst pitching staff or anything ... oh wait!
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Pathetic I'm sad, we lost (not even gonna waste a graphic)
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Strikeouts looking are dis-spiriting. Not even against breaking pitches.Shorten up and defend with two strikes, preaches Hernandez from the booth. But the congregation heeds not.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 We had the baby with us, so we left before the Brewers scored their second run and heard the rest of the game on the way home in the car.Niese recovered well, but I had a bad feeling about this game after the first inning. I only saw the Cuddyer error on replay...ughh.The highlight of the game was that our seats were in the section in front of the SNY booth and we got Ronnie to give us a wave before the game.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 This team is punchless, and it's not going to get better. There's no one to call up from the minors- they've all been here already and they've sucked, even though they were hitting .370 or whatever in Vegas. And being punchless, it means that there's no margin for the sloppy defensive play that seems to be a nightly event. So we're staring at the abyss, another hundred games or so of 3-2 and 2-1 losses. And unless something happens, 2016 is going to look a lot like 2015.Firing Collins won't change this, even though he annoys me. These guys are professionals, even though some (most?) are playing out of position. But they haven't been playing professionally for a while except for brief spurts of competence. We at least weren't fooled by The Streak, but I'm betting Sandy was hoping he could leverage that enough to get through the season. But they're back to .500 now and falling fast. And the ripcord on the parachute seems to be stuck.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 I disagree that it's not going to get better. The nature of things suggests it has to. The question is whether it will be in time.
