Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 I would have liked to see deGrom-- 82 pitches in-- left in to clean his own mess this inning. I mean, he's not getting knocked around, and I like his chances of minimizing damage more than, say, Goeddel's.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 This has turned pretty awful. 5-2 Nats and deGrom outta there. 1 out in the 6th, [crossout:2djwwoy2]2 on[/crossout:2djwwoy2] bases loaded, Goeddel on the mound.

I gotta agree. It's deflating.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 NIIICE. Lags with a perfect throw nabs Zimm at the plate
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 That oughta buy JohnnyLags a dozen or so third-base-coach "hold" signs.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Denard Span out for the (slight) defensive downgrade Michael Taylor. Hmm.Two early-count hits to start the home sixth. Double hmm.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Gotta plate one here. Pitching change. Strass done.Gotta get one. Winning teams squeeze more out of this.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 That was your chance Wilmer.*takes out shit-list.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 I know this is probably just my imagination, but we seem to be getting burned both by a lot of at'em balls by NYM hitters and by a lot of seeing-eye singles against lately.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 I guess I thought the Mets would win everyday or so.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 Part of the seeing-eye singles thing is that I have ZERO cahnfidence that any ground ball is going to be turned into an out.Either they wind up between fielders for hits or they wind up AT fielders and which point I hold my breath both through the play and through the throw. It's a far cry from the '99 infield when I was surprised if they didn't turn anything other than a solid line-drive into an out.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 TC going to Leatherface to get Bryce. Imagine growing up with a first name like Bryce.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 I think Leathersich needs a little more Vegas Chipotle at this point....
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 So Leathersich's role on this team is apparently to give up screaming liners to lefty hitters.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 This BOTTOM of the 9th feel really bottom-ly!

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 So the fact that we got out-hit like 12-2 since the end of the 3rd inning means this could easily have been a loss anyway. But it would be tough to find a game where a 4th inning grounder was a bigger turning point.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 That was not so fun.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Disappointing in so many ways.
