Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Nice to break the HR-drought and am grateful for them tying up the game ... but innings with 5 hits including 2 HRs plus a walk should yield more than 3 runs.Muffy's GiDP was certainly ill-timed.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Marlins lost an 8-1 lead and are now tied with the Rays at home, 8-8.Why yes, I am scoreboard watching by game four. Why do you ask?
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 That's a good time for Niese to have a 1-2-3, right after the bats even things up.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Wilmer's a mess out there in the field.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 IGT comes to a crashing halt... 3-3, middle of seven.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 That's some nice lefty-lefty work by, uh, that dude, to get Markakis and [crossout:qgbdhnj5]Private Pyle[/crossout:qgbdhnj5] Freeman there.
Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 That strikeout pitch by Montero was wicked.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 My naked eye said it dropped below the knee, but Gameday agrees with the ump. Steeerike three.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Was guessing they'd pinch-hit Duda if Wright got on, but nope.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Kyle Johnson's right about Chris Johnson being right about Jim Johnson being good.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 That's a nice job to get Maybin there.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Montego threw real well that whole inning - not just on the ABs that turned out well. He deserved better right up to that last pitch.Bad defense all night, even where there weren't errors.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Gary called it a "shocking mental error" by David. Going to need another homer from you, David.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Now we just need a 2-run comeback off of Kimbrel ... oh wait!!
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Riiiiiiight. About 200% more optimistic than I would have been the last few years.

You hate to suggest that he curb his aggressiveness but he really never got all that close to that ball and by diving wound up turning it into a double. And how did Wright not get an error charged on that earlier play? And then of course there's Wilmer's night.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Sloppy game. Muffy seeing a bunch of pitches here that is a good sign.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 I guess you use Duda to hit for Flores now?
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 well, we deserved that
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 The Wright misplay: your Acme Fulcrum Turning Point of the Day.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 As much as I loved putting Maybone in for Duda, a real opportunity was lost not starting Tejada, which would have done exactly what Terry speculated it would have, gotten a better glove in there for Niese, who pitches to groundouts. Alternatively, it could have gotten a right-handed bat in there for Murphy. Or it could have possibly done both, if Tejada starts at short and Flores at second. As it is, this game certainly can give fuel to the doubters. I'd hate to see Flores have his Melvin Mora game in April, leading fans to lose confidence in him before the home opener.
