Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I get it. It's a "book."Holy crap a film poster featuring Ron Glass.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 You didn't notice the grey "NY"?
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Guess I need HHHDTV, and Rockin' Doc!

I like the caps. I thought it was a white NY like the old Giants caps (or Dodgers color scheme). I usually don't like changes like this, you have heard my stance on the orange brim, but I do like how those caps looked on TV. Might have to get me one. I haven't bought a Mets cap since that red, white & blue NY (on dark blue) one. Man, that feels like yesterday but it's a lot of years now.

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Obviously, being at today's game was a lot more fun than last night's game. Cold, of course but Harvey's heat kept us warm. Lots of Mets fans. One of the highlights was us serenading a departing Strasberg with "Harvey's Better!" A really good day to be at the game and, of course, a good day to be a Mets fan.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 I just got around to watching this game. I haven't seen Harvey pitch in so long, I forgot how strong he is. Like an ox. His legs are like redwood trunks. Here's an excerpt from Grantland's piece on Harvey's return in DC:...Harvey, unlike so many young baseball stars, hasnt surrendered his humanity in the pursuit of sport; he sees no reason to pretend not to enjoy being young, handsome, and famous all at once. Its also that he is elevated by the obnoxious bicoastal American creation myth, in which all life originated on Manhattan Island, and Gods chosen people either remain there or migrate to Los Angeles, leaving whats between as a wasteland not worth considering. And Harvey is one shining beacon of goodness in a Mets culture with massive reach thats been corroded to its soul by forces so insidious that losing consistently doesnt make the franchises list of most concerning issues. But beyond the media microscope and the Ten Plagues of Wilpon, it remains that in 2012 and 2013, Harvey achieved a level of success that was shocking on its own....
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Harvey, as a powerful conquering jock, may exude some sex appeal, but take him out of context, I'd be slow to describe him as "handsome."
