Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Why, any indication that this scoreboard roots for the Mets. Maybe they should change their name to the Buds, because there seems to be plenty of room for them....
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 I'm hoping they're replacing the LET'S GO METS sign with a LET'S GO METS! sign. I never understood the lack of exclamation.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 it's not just beans, it's rice! It's chick peas (which are sort of beans)! It's ceviche! Coconut milk! Pickled stuff! And more beans!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Oh, I just thought it was an invitation for non-Jews to came to the stadium.Oh wait that's Goyim. Never mind.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 The funny thing about those ads is that most of them have no tag lines, or slash lines, or URLS or anything. They're just logos without a context.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 I guess those companies feel that their fame precedes them and makes embellishment totally unnecessary. It's like magazines these days. Their title banners are often now almost entirely obscured by photos but they must figure that their logos by this point are so ingrained in the consciousness of their readers that just the opening P and closing E are enough to let people know that it's PEOPLE even though the rest is covered up by a close-up of J-Lo's face (or butt). Even TIME and SI do this (although not normally with J-Lo's butt).
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2015 Author Posted March 19, 2015 The one I don't get is Old Dominion Freight Lines. I mean, who goes to a Mets game and has an epiphany about their trucking needs by looking at the Citi scoreboard? At least with Goya you can get hungry and start looking for chick peas at the concession stands.

batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Introducing your new Citi Field Scoreboard. Now 10% less ugly.[fimg=666:14qw4uhp]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CAaST7WWAAAxvxW.jpg[/fimg:14qw4uhp]
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2015 Author Posted March 19, 2015 I wonder if they bought it at Rent-A-Center so Fred could pay in installments.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 I didn't even know that Gulf existed anymore. I can't recall the last time I saw a Gulf station.
