Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 We all clearly have far too much free time at our jobs/in our lives, and pay an inordinate amount of attention to Metsiana of both serious import and doofy interest. So how did we miss this? (From Dec. 18, 2014)
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Fun video! I used to love The Globetotters. I just googledMeadowlark Lemon... he's still dribbling at the young age of82! Surprised I'm an inch taller than him according to wikiheight,I always thought of him as a giant.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 I expect to be doing a lot of dribbling at 82, myself.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 I used to be able to spin a basketball on my finger very well, even keep it going using other hand to continue it. I need to find my ball, it's probably Belichicked though.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Mrs. Fafif found herself on the opposite side of the tracks from the Globetrotters during one of their promotional tours through Queens a couple of months ago. I mean literally the opposite side of the tracks on the 7 line around Sunnyside. She was waiting for a train eastbound and they were surprising and entertaining random commuters westbound. She got their attention and they gladly hammed it up.Not pictured there but here: Jenrry and Jeurys, hydrating in character.[fimg=200:2ddqjnfz]http://www.faithandfearinflushing.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/water-for-relievers.jpg[/fimg:2ddqjnfz]

Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Didn't know most of this, until today...Brother BonesFrom Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaBrother Bones (October 4, 1902 June 14, 1974[1]) was an American whistling and bone playing recording artist from Montgomery, Alabama.[1] Born Freeman Davis, his 1949 [2] recording of the 1925 standard "Sweet Georgia Brown," became internationally famous after being adopted as the theme song of the Harlem Globetrotters basketball team in 1952. Notably, the bass line for this track uses the Novachord a very early electronic synthesizer more prominently featured on the B side of the record. Despite the success of this record, Brother Bones himself remained relatively unknown.[citation needed]Another of his recordings, "Black Eyed Susan Brown", was sampled in the De La Soul song, "Pease Porridge", on their 1991 album, De La Soul is Dead."Sweet Georgia Brown" was used in the Vauxhall Meriva television advertisement in the UK."Sweet Georgia Brown" on the Tempo label (US), recorded by Brother Bones and His ShadowsHe died in June 1974, in Long Beach, California, at the age of 71.[1]
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Here's some shenanigans at Wright's annual Vegas Night fundraiser. I see Cuddy, Niese, Laggy (I think), Wright, possibly Wilmer, d'Arnaud with some offseason fuzz developments, and... and... holy crap, Bobby Parnell, what have you done?
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Think they have the jeans with an un-tucked dress shirt thing down?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Flores is still a little raw in that department. He'll learn.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 You've got Flores & Lagares swapped. Wilmer is the taller one with the badge turned backwards.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Cuddy's got a little redneck Reed Richards thing going on there, doesn't he?And for f*ck's sake, guys, tuck in a shirt. Are you farmers*?*Parnell may be excused.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 They look like the band "Florida Georgia Line."
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 I feel bad for Wilmer Flores. I think the Mets fans are going to give him a lot of undeserved shit for not being Tulowitski or Desmond or Honus Wagner.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 If you told me the guy on the right was a beardshorn Justin Turner, I'd've believed you.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 I was talking about the clothes, but whatever ... I could bump into 7/8's of the Mets in the subway and not knowthem by face ...
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Parnell, you'd be more likely to bump into on the Canadian timberline, by the looks of it.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 We're looking at different things.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 (edited) Bitch, bitch, bitch. This is a happy thread, for winsome-type shenanigans. Like casino hugs, f'rinstan-- JEEZALOU WATCH THE SHOULDER AND THE BACK AND THE ALL OF IT. Edited January 25, 2015 by Guest
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Admins, did you split this thread? I thought that I had posted something along the lines of:"Signing a 36 year old injured outfielder is my idea of offseason shenanigans."Did I make that up in my head?
