Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Released by the Mets way back on May 26, but never officially moved on to pastos mas verderos until this week when he signed a minor league deal with San Diego.

Guest themetfairy Guests Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I thought he'd be fun to watch. I wish he had been.
Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I'd say he was a stop gap, an attempt to catch lightening in a bottle. It missed the bottle. But a lot more fun that Kyle Farnsworth.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 He was at the point where it was about 23% talent, 77% bravado + will; and growing. You knew it couldn't last but that opening-day lightning was something else.Smell ya later, Papas Fritas.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I will forever conflate him with that guy who had the infinite ERA from a few years ago, and despite the photographic evidence, I have no memory of him in a Mets uniform.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 12, 2015 Author Posted January 12, 2015 That's something funny about veteran relievers. They come in to dark metal, strut the mound area like panthers, flex their muscles after firing a a high fastball past the first batter, but... the radar gun says 91. I'm wondering who they're fooling, and then I look around, and, well, they're fooling everybody.Trevor Hoffman was running up to 88% bravado by the end.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I remember he gave up a bad HR to Raul Ibanez.Or was that Farnsworth? I forget. I'm not sure it matters.I remember thinking he would suck. Then thought for a moment "Hey he might not suck". Then thinking again "No, I was right. He sucks."
