G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 (edited) Josh Satin has signed with the Reds. There goes the last third of the Stinson-Schwinden-Satin triumvirate of September 2011.I'll hold fondly a nice hot streak from the middle of 2013, of a piece with EY arriving to steal bases and Wheeler shedding his Super Two baggage. There was a Friday night at the end of June when he delivered a booming double that made a Harvey Night crowd explode with ecstasy. Thought it was going out. Thought the Mets were gonna beat the Nats. Thought Harvey was gonna rack up another win. Thought the Mets were on the rise.None of those thoughts converted to reality, and it was mostly downhill from there for Satin. Seems like a good kid, though. Hope it works out well for him in Cincy, give or take six games a year. Edited November 22, 2014 by Guest
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 I wish I could say I had faith in Satin's talent but I never really did. Too many Ks with not enough power and not nearly enough secondary skills to make him worth waiting out - as does the fact that he'll turn 30 in a few weeks.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 I remember watching him play as a B-Met.I remember him as a class act, and how well he got along with Ike Davis when they were in competition for the same job.But mostly I remember the eyebrows.Good luck Josh - I hope that you thrive in Cincinnati (except when competing against the Mets).(Taken on September 1, 2011 - the day of his Major League call-up)

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 How could this have happened to our furry-browed sad-sack fan-favorite? We started out like Romeo and Juliet, but instead it ended in tragedy! At least his Mom thinks he's cool.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 They really handed him a job this year. I supported the heck of their decision, but between Turner's comeback year and Satin's battin', it sure didn't work out.
