Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 I'm hearing it's Mejia's elbow. Jeeze. I knew they wouldn't consider leaving Familia in for the 9th, and hurt Mejia or not, they should have considered it. Well, I imagine now Familia gets the ball in the 9th if Mejia goes down. He was so filthy today the ball couldn't find the strike zone. But it didn't matter.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 I still don't like Lags not leading off. Like I've said before, like Ronnie said today. You don't groom a guy to lead off, have him excel, and then not lead him off. TC will say he's protecting him from...what? The pressure? Bullshit. Every game counts. Time to take off the kid gloves T.C., and if you want Laggy to be the lead off guy, don't fuck with his head. Let him lead off.

That's not nothing.I'm sure Lagares will get his chances.

That's not nothing.I'm sure Lagares will get his chances."have him excel" would be a grossly exagerated version of what Lagares did as a hitter in 2014. His defense makes him a valuable contributor and his bat plays at that position, but a .321 OBP isnt "excelling" at leading off. Granderson wasn't much better, but the near 100 point difference in Granderson's BA & OBP tell me he is more likely to finish with the higher OBP this year as walk-drawing tends to be more consistent than hitting.
