Each of the two remaining players played their Mets home games in two different stadiums.

They're both middle infielders.

They both have the same first name initial.

And the same # of letters in their last name.

Try and guess both players in the same post.

Hit his lone Met HR against Mike Lacoss and the Reds on 6/18/79.

Among Mets who've homered only once for the franchise, Taveras has the most career Mets at-bats. By far.

Wanna quiz the next 10? Position players only.

One of my pet topics since the Lone HR reign of Mike Hessman, who was supposed to be a super slugger and got screwed out of a second HR on a video review (that was correct).

I think Abreu might have one-homered his way past Reyes, however. And maybe llasreiP ymmiJ had more ABs?

You're right. I missed Abreu. My source didn't include 2014 stats.

Maybe if Piersall had looked where he was going, he would have streaked past Argenis.

So what's one of your pet topics?

Mets with one and only one home run, thus my enthusiasm for this particular quiz.

Not a pet topic: sentences that don't need clarification.

Legend has it Piersall was immediately booted off the team by Stengel for his stunt, supported by the immortal line about there being room enough on this here ballclub for only one clown, but Piersall played another month as a Met.

His homer kicked off a great week, actually. Two days later he batted leadoff and doubled to spark the Mets to victory in the first-ever Mayor's Trophy Game, the one in which Yankee Stadium ushers couldn't control those awful rowdy Mets fans with their horns and banners and general insouciance.

I shoulda used Baseball Reference to make this list. It woulda taken me about 44 seconds and it woulda been error free.

Here's the correct list -- up to Piersall:

2 Bob Bailor - 797
3 Tim Foli - 719
4 Jose Oquendo - 517
5 Alex Cora - 440
6 Brett Butler - 367
7 Al Moran - 353
8 Rod Gaspar 229
9 Matt den Dekker - 210
10 Tony Fernandez - 173
11 Jack Heidemann - 157
12 Jeff Duncan - 154
13 Chico Fernandez - 145
14 Leo Foster - 136
15 Bobby Abreu - 133
16 Argenis Reyes - 127
17 Jimmy Piersall - 124
