Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Got to hand it Murph for keeping his head in it in the ninth after his terrible game on defense.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Guys, how about Doodoo? I've begun to think of him as the ideal Sandy-DePodesta kinda guy: OK body, some flaws, under the radar, but hits it hard almost all the time and capable of serious damage.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 There's no way, earlier in his career or even earlier in this season, that DooDoo jumps KRod on the 1st pitch of the AB like that.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Dumping Ike looking better every day.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Here's the thing... woke up early, and had to chase around two additional kids all afternoon after work. I dozed off just between the bottom-eighth and top-ninth.So... while it's not QUITE as cool as, y'know, experiencing it, this is a pretty nice set of replays to watch.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Here's the other thing. We didn't dump Ike. We held out and got two no-kidding arrows for the quivers of future Met managers.Tough choice, but solid so far.Terry in the post-game was talking about himself as a development-oriented baseball guy. That the satisfaction in seeing guys come through at the big league level was knowing how much work they've put into their game to turn that corner.I'm trying not to see that as Terry laying out an exit strategy --- a lot of great big league managers were teachers and developmentally minded --- but let's just say I'm a little closer to being on board with Operation Backman than I was a year ago.
