Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Try and think, though, that it's a week later and the Mets are some'n'how four games closer. And, if the game ends with this score (or more favorable for the Mets) then the Mets will have a better season-long RS/RA number than the Braves - and yet be 8 games behind.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 That post was supposed to be in the Where We Struggle thread.

Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 DeGrom's a keeper. At the start of the season, I didn't envision him being ahead of Thor and Montero.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 This is some kind of storm coming. Hope for a quick 9th.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Mets starting to play lazy. Come on. Crispen up.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Around the league tonight ...- Yanx hand Tanaka a 2-run lead in the 1st, but lose 5-3 in large part due to a tie-breaking Nick Swisher HR.Good thing the Yanx got rid of all those HR hitters they hated (like Swisher & Grandy) in favor of a small-ball/pop-gun offense. Maybe it's time for them to re-think that wish.- O's at Nats rained out tonight. It was to be the 2nd game of their 4-game 2+2 series but they're not going to make it up either Wednesday or Thursday by doing a 2-games/2-cities/one-day thing that the Mets & Yanx did twice. Yeah, those stadiums are 40 miles apart rather than 6, but it would be doable in a day/night way.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Dammit. I wanted the back-end of the pen to get the night off. That'll cost you more than a sip Mr. Eveland. And you look like a guy who likes his beer. Tisk, tisk.
