IGT: June 10 vs Brewers. Home-brewed desperation.

I haven't started one this year, so maybe this will bring some luck.

The Mets, having done their best to prove that the line about them playing better on the road is a bunch of bunk, return tonight to Citi Field to play the Brewers.

It's the first of a three-game series.

On the bright side:

Daisuke Matsuzaka (2-0, 3.21 ERA) vs Marco Estrada (5-2, 4.19 ERA) for Milwaukee.

Daniel Murphy is back [crossout:26jylc8t]from being used in a White House photo op,[/crossout:26jylc8t] err, sharing his experiences and will be expected to lead the way to victory with better socks.

David Wright should be less cranky now that he is playing and leading in the All-Star Game voting.

Despite Mike Puma's efforts, Terry will continue to sit in a relatively non-warm seat, especially if we can win a game.

We can beat these guys!

If someone were to suggest to you say two years ago that Carlos Gomez would be hitting 4th in a lineup where Ryan Braun hits 2nd you'd think he was a bit daft.

Chris Young is a rally killer.

Walking the bases loaded.

Considering our struggles with the bases loaded, it's not a bad strategy.

Teagarden has a version of the Chase Utley-ish truncated follow-through kind of swing - at least while going towards the opposite field. Haven't seen him pull one yet.

He does.

I didn't expect Taylor Teagarden to do that. (Now superstition will force me to always say his complete name)

I have to say, we're pretty good at drawing walks tonight.

Losing confidence in our bullpen. Didn't the pen lose, like, five of the six games in the streak?

Gameday makes it seem like Davis just struck out swinging at a pitch that was so inside that it nearly hit him!

It kinda sorta was-- movement so nasty, you should call it Mister Two-Seam.

Oh, my boy may occasionally get shaky. But he doesn't stay shaky.

I believe you are correct.

You keep that champagne corked -- we got three outs to go!

Never heard of "Irving Falu"?

Sounds Jewish-Tonganese.

Mets just won a homecoming day in I-don't-know-how-long. I was starting to think God hated "Taking Care of Business."

YES!

Now we can uncork the bubbly and put it in the books!

Did Mejia crop his hair or is just relaxing it with a notion?

Oh, that coiff's highly notional. The fist pumpish thing was similarly relaxed.

Mejia seems to be developing a real taste for this closing bid'ness, is he not?
