Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Mejia entering to pitch the eighth. Looking for a two-inning save or do they want only one inning out of him.An enigmatic move!
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 I'm very intrigues with what Mejia is doing here and I'm really hoping for a quick 8th inning just to see how it would play out if he only faces 3 or 4 batters. is Terry a clown throwing Mejia out in the 8th for some scrub to blow it in the 9th, or is Collins an Evil Genius, saying goodbye to the bullshit "one inning closer" philosophy and saying "you're my best guy, get 6 outs for me." I really hope its the latter.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 I think it's the latter. But Met relievers ain't no scrubs. Familia is as a big a deal as Mejia, from my seat.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 "Pedro! Pedro! Pedro!" resounding through the park.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 I'm thinking this will go one of two ways. One of 'em, I'm a little worried about.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 "Tejada! Tejada! Tejada!" resounding through my bedroom! That's "Ruben" with an E, Baby.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Yeah, he kinda hasn't made an out today, so... that would be appropriate, at least for a night. And there's a steal.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Get him in Laggy! Cause to me this game still feels tied.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Both managers go to their nominal closers an inning sooner than usual.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Defensive plays, two-out scoring, funky bullpen usage... is it me, or has this game had the ring of "anything you can do" all night?

(unless it winds up re-tied)
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 GAH! Then he goes after that. But that was a good slider. Damn.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Old Man Grilli with the nastiness.Anyway, even the outs are good at-bats these days from Johnny.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Mejia really could be a great closer. This would be a step in that direction. 2 run lead son. Just go after 'em.Damn. Campbell boots one to start the inning.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Ugh, come on ump.TEJEDA with a real heads up play!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Wow, what an ending!Good thing Ruben went to the mound and learned the signs!
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Big-boy save from Hhenry!Oh, Hhenry.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Wow. Good game. That catch by Grandy. I don't think I've ever seen someone pull it back in quite like that. Some credit's gotta go to his glove, or more so how well he worked that glove in. Cause Granderson didn't exactly get to it in time but the glove did.
