Someone forgot to pack the brains on the baggage
car of the subway.

I like you being cocky, Mets, but that doesn't mean you get a pass on brain-thinking.

Look at deGrom's mane. We haven't had a Methead that resplendent since Daniel Ray Herrera.

Game's moving much more swiftly this evening. Sucks,
but it's quick.

Tanaka looks solid and all but he don't look unhittable. WAKE UP GUYS! Don't make me pine for the Yankee Stadium Mets.

Ugh shit. Torres gets hit by a liner. Looks okay.

They've had some loud outs and some at 'em balls - and then erased one of the few base runners they did have with a dopey running play.
Got three more cracks at these guys so this is far from over.

Is that the third stupid play or the fourth?

If I were given three chances to pick the player most likely to get a 14 ft RBI single I'd guess Jeter 1st & 2nd and wouldn't even take the third.

Long flight last night, Gw ... looks like they have jet lag.

Calm down Gary, Jeter holds the franchise marks for hits, singles & SBs.
Let's not act like he's re-written the entire record book.

Trying to watch at the gym, but there is a huge problem... YES is on everywhere and is a few seconds ahead of ESPN (no SNY here). I refuse to watch YES, but I hate being behind the TV's around me

Throw at Tanaka here? Sure he doesn't see that much.

Have they even shown Girardi on camera tonight. He's half
asleep in the dugout dreaming yeah this NL managing is just
as easy as in the AL.

Ok, you goofball cocky Mets, time to play.

Abreu looks bad on a pitch for the first time this season, then gets mad and gets off the interstate.

Game score of 87 for Tanaka. Think that's the highest score against the Mets I've had the misfortune of seeing since that May 2010 debacle against Halladay in Philadelphia.

If I hear Gary Cohen say again about how the Mets need to have Eric Young in the lineup to win, I'm going to throw something at the television. In addition to the idiotic play on Roberts' should-have-been-a-harmless single, that was a really poor slide at second base in the 9th. Was neither a takeout slide nor a I'm-trying-to-beat-the-throw slide.

In positive news, this game had the lowest Yankee douchebag fans factor that I've ever seen for a subway series game at Shea.

If a sentence can make me both laugh and cry, it is that one.

I always associate poor Jackie Smith with wide-open dropsies.

This game pretty much ended when Chris Young got thrown out. It's hard to call it the "turning point" when a team trailing by multiple runs loses a baserunner, but the Mets seemed to have put their faith in being clever, rather than good. When that blew up on them, they had nothing.
