Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Henderson Alvarez, RHP1-2, 2.66 ERAAlvarez was perfect for five innings in his last start. He ended up throwing a two-hit shutout against the Mariners. The right-hander needed 90 pitches to become Miami's first starter to go the distance this season.Zack Wheeler, RHP1-2, 4.63 ERAWheeler entered this season hoping to improve his control and efficiency, but he has struggled in both areas through two starts. Still, the righty has kept his team in the game each time he has pitched, with three quality starts and one near-miss.(mets.com)
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 I've never had marlin, but dang this looks yummy ...
RealityChuck Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 The quality of the marlin depends on on Brando.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Ugh. Wright with an error on a wicked liner that hits off his heel in the 1st. That had to hurt. The Fishy lead off batter ends up on second.Wheeler don't let it bother him. Ks Ozuna.Gets Stanton on a ground out. Man on third. And then a walk. Bad! Bad Zack! We don't want you throwing a billion pitches to get to the 6th.1st & 3rd, 2 out.Ks Salty!yay!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Not much of a diver on defense is Stanton.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 For a slider-speed bat, Travie's doing a heck of a job turning around fastballs of late. And added bonus: stealz!
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Hmm, that was some energy there. Travis powers one over the infield for a single and then steals second. Niice.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Ump sure is giving Alvarez that high inside pitch.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Wheels really seems to be in command tonight.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 It looks like a good day to put Flores at short, with Wheelie fanning the side.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Trudat. Great RBI single by Wright. He hit that on the nose.WHOA, Muffy double! Wright scores!2-0 New York
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Random quotes of the game:Murphy's stolen base was his 26th consecutive attempt without getting caught, tying the second longest streak in #Mets history. #NYMvsMIAThanks to back-to-back RBI hits from Wright and Murphy tonight, the #Mets, rather improbably, have held a lead in 20 of their 23 games.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 (edited) I didn't realize until tonight that no pitcher for theMets has gotten a hit yet this year. Wonder if that'sthe case with any other teams. Kinda doubt it. Edited April 25, 2014 by Guest
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Walks, wild pitches, climbing pitch counts... meanwhile, Everyday Dice-K loosens in the pen.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 I suppose that's a bullet dodged with the loud Stanton out to end the inning. But this lead suddenly feels a lot more tenuous... not just because of the run scored, but because of the way Wheeler's gotten shaky this last frame.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Fans not even booing Granderson on that SO....it's like yeah we knew that was coming
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 David hits a bomb to right center and Stanton runs it down with a great catch at the wall.....
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 That's the spot where HR's go to die.

Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 It's chilly, it is what it is I guess. Would be as chilly tooif the Mets ever sniff the playoffs again any time soon.
