Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Still no lineup? Is this a sign of the long-awaited (by some of us) trade?Kernan thinks it may be just that, tweeting: "I'm sure they're making a trade. Goodbye Ike??"

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Now the lineup is out but still no word on what corresponding move was made to get CYoung on the 25 and in the game Eric Young Jr. CF2. Daniel Murphy 2B3. David Wright 3B4. Curtis Granderson - RF5. Chris Young LF 6. Lucas Duda 1B 7. Travis dArnaud C8. Ruben Tejada SS 9. Jon Niese LHP
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 (edited) Weird play on d'Arnaud/Duda there to end the second. No challenge from Terry... I'm thinking the umps said Duda would have been out if d'Arnaud was safe?OE: Apparently Duda slowed up after the out call was made. If an erroneous call affected the rest of the baserunning/defensive play, don't you-- as GKR assert-- have to give Duda third? There's no real precedent for this, is there? Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 This replay thing is why Tampa manager Joe Madden was instructing his players in ST that now you have to "play until the 4th out"
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Freeman's bat has got to spend more time in the hitting zone than just about any player I've seen - particularly any big guy.Given that swing I'm surprised he Ks as often as he does (even though I don't think I've ever actually witnessed him strike out).
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 (edited) The spirit of Chipper is strong in that one. The spirit of D-Bag Ozymandias, too.Nicely-turned bit of business from Murph on the DP-- aggressive in a good way. And Niese makes it count with the backwards-K of Upton. Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Ummm, can we get a hit here sometime soon? It is Aaron Freakin' I-was-released-by-the-Indians-in-ST Harang
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 On the plus side, No Longer Hawky is hawking up a juicy one tonight through 5 frames.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Disagree, Gary. There's no way I [u:2sunhx4c]DON'T[/u:2sunhx4c] call Duda out at 3rd on that play.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 On the plus side, it's moving the game along really briskly. Like, pre-Larussian-era brisk.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Umm, I have a bad feeling about this.We could REALLY use a hit here.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 If I'm the Braves here, I say the heck with the no-no and yank Harang. He's not going to go all the way anyway.
Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 How come Harang didn't do this for us?

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Harang Hits/9 career = 9.4Pitches four games for the Braves after getting picked up off the scrap heap = just over 3

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 And now busting up the no-hitter is the ONLY priority for the rest of the night.
