Mex17 Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I know that sounds insane to say on February 14th, and it probably is. But, I am noticing a few things.Firstly, no press conference with him smiling and holding up his new Mets jersey next to Alderson. It's a small thing, but a bit unusual. Now, with 60+ guys already in Florida doing informal workouts, nary a picture or mention of Bartolo among them. Maybe it's because he is a veteran and he knows precisely what and when he needs to do or not do in order to pitch effectively for six months at age 40, but how would you interpret it if the first day that he shows his face is also the first day that he is contractually obligated to do so?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 It's early yet. Let's see how we feel about him in, say, about another six or seven hours.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Perhaps the lack of pictures is due to a sudden shortage of wide angle lenses in eastern Florida?

Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I know Josh Lewin is excited to see him run the bases, so maybe he's just in the cages somewhere working on getting hits to oblige.
