batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 (edited) Three Mets outfields qualified as primary regular alignment for two, but not three, consecutive seasons. Name them (one trio per post). Just give me the names, not the years. Edited February 12, 2014 by Guest
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Going with my standard answer. McReynolds, Dykstra, Strawberry.

You got one of the three outfields (1987-'88). You had previously guessed that this was the Mets primary OF for three straight seasons, but you can thank Juan Samuel (CF-1989) for fouling up your earlier answer. The 1986 Mets primary OF was Foster/Dykstra/Strawberry.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 I thought we all agreed NEVER TO DISCUSS JUAN SAMUEL AGAIN.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted February 13, 2014 Author Posted February 13, 2014 Either these outfield quizzes are way too tough, or y'all are sick up to here already with these primary regular alignment outfield questions.Anyways, the 1987-'88 repeat primary outfield of McReynolds, Dykstra and Strawberry was the last time the Mets fielded the same main outfield for two straight seasons. The other Mets repeat primary outfields were the Steve Henderson, Lee Mazzilli, Joel Youngblood outfield of 1979-'80 and the Cleon Jones, Don Hahn, Rusty Staub outfield of 1973-'74.
