Ramon Castro?

Nothing for the big guy.

Jeremy Burn Itch.

Wouldn't have gotten that in a week.

If you're blue
And need someone to go to
For powerful pinch hits!
Don't you pick Burnitz!

Nothing. NOTHING!

Forgot about Hendu. Howzabout 1979?

An incredibly power-sapped year. But not on that one glorious day when Dan Norman socked a two-run pinch homer off of Doug Bair.

And the base color was beige, because base is beige. Right now, though the socks are gray.

Not quite on the timing, but I'll accept this. Beige (or tan) was one of two colors in my stripey sox of yesterday.

I've just realized that I had Henderson wrong. Steve hit four pinch-hit homers, not five.

Lemur Silly is the perfect guess, with a tour of duty as a regular and a second one as a bench player. And indeed, he clubbed four homers as a pinch-hitter, over an impressive spread of 12 years, with one in 1977, two in 1987, and a final one on the way out the door in 1989.

You're hot. Ron Swoboda had five on his career --- two each in 1965 and 1966 and one final one in 1970.

That one I can figure out. Ken Boswell had three career homers as a pinch-hitter, two in 1973 and one more '74. A fine effort, but he doesn't make our list.

Daryl Boston doesn't make the career list, with three, but as all of them took place in the 1992 season (with that rape charge hanging over his head), he makes the season list.

I can't see the first of the two photos batmag has posted.

Dave Magadan is a no-go.

If the second one starts with a shot of a beach, then Jim Beauchamp has already been guessed.

Fonzie has never pinch-homered for the Mets.

What do you want? Coaching? I guess you'll have a devil of a time guessing without a hint or two. You'll be guessing until opening day.

The stripes on the beige socks were like, a kind of pinkish maroon.

The least homerly year for Met pinch-sluggers was, uh, 1981.

The most recent Met pinch-homerer was Kirk Nieuwenhuis

Sheesh, no wonder Ashie thinks I'm a bisexual turd. No, I have not been rocking the mauve.

Always a good guess for a year of leasts, but Mike Jorgensen, Dan Norman, and Mike Cubbage(!) all celebrated organized labor by slugging a pinch homer in 1981.

Nieueie has hit some dramatic late-game homers, but never as a pinchie.

You don't need the first image of that "Dave" movie, featuring Eddie Murphy. Just marshall your focus on that Marshally stack of Marshall Amps that Marshall manufactured.

"Tim" + Der Teufel

Tim Teufel is correct. Let us not forget how much Manager Johnson used him as his top righthanded pinch hitter. He'd even send him up to hit for Rusty if he sent Rusty up and the opponent countered with a lefty. Teufel pinch-hit five homers for the Mets --- two in the magical year of 1986, another in 1987, and two more in 1990.

You don't need the first image of that "Dave" movie, featuring Eddie Murphy. Just marshall your focus on that Marshally stack of Marshall Amps that Marshall manufactured.

Dave Marshall pinch-homered three times, twice in 1970 and a third time in 1971, not quite prolific enough to make our list, but that's three more times than Jim Marshall, Mike Marshall, and Mike Marshall put together.

it's not dwight motherfucking gooden is it?

Worse guesses could have been made. Gooden pinch-hit three times for the Mets from 1992 to 1993, and managed two hits, including a triple, but no homers. Given more opportunity, who knows? But you'd certainly have remembered it if he was pinch-hitting homers with any regularity.

also, the mets have hit 104 pinch hit home runs throughout their glorious history. uh... more or less.

More!
